Re: What year was the first stealth trans?

The Worlds Car was the model that Team Associated released to celebrate Brain Kinwalds 1993 Ifmar World Championship win. It featured an aluminium chassis (among other hop up parts). I think the graphite car you have/referring to is the Team Car which was available with both aluminium and graphite c...

Re: What year was the first stealth trans?

Hi Eau Rouge, I like reading alot of your posts on this forum but in this particular case, you are wrong. Sometimes you shouldn't believe everything you read. The informative timeline you provided via link merely suggests that the 2:40:1 transmission was released in 1994, and I can say this with 100...

Re: What year was the first stealth trans?

Hi guys, The RC10 Team Car which featured the Stealth transmission was released in late 1990 - early 1991. Eau Rouge, the 1994 RC10 Worlds car featured the same Stealth transmission as the Team Car (2:25 ratio). I think you are getting confused with the RC10B2 which was released after the RC10 World...

Team Associated Japanese Spec. RC10 Gear Cover

Hi Guys and Girls, I thought I would share with you some photo's of my Team Associated/Yokomo RC10 Gear Cover. I am not sure if any of you are familiar with this piece but I know that Masami Hirosaka used this style of gear cover on his RC10's in the early 1990's (Vintage Article: Masami's 1991 Worl...

Re: Rear belts for the YZ10 and YZ870C

Hi Varma, The part number for the rear belt of the 1989 YZ10 (or YZ870C) is ZC-656. The description is 'Rear Drive Belt for YR-4 Series'. They are still readily available and your local hobby shop should be able to order them from Yokomo Japan/USA for you or you can try an online hobby shop. Let us ...

Re: Radio Control Model Cars 1991 Off-Road IFMAR World, Detroit

Hey Toaster, Unfortunately no photo shots of Masami's (or Cliff Lett's winning car for that matter) '91 Detroit Yokomo were allowed without the body on. The only close up pictures that I have seen of the '91 prototype Yokomo's is Cliff Lett's shown on this thread (Cedric is the man) and in a DVD of ...

Re: Yokomo Off-Road Car Timeline

Time line updated. Thanks to Darryn Johnson, Eau Rouge and Dr Robotnik for the information regarding the first Yokomo 4WD racers. Awaiting confirmation on whether the Yokomo RPS was released late 1985 or early 1986. Thank you also Terry.sc for the information regarding the Craig Drescher conversion/...

Re: Yokomo Off-Road Car Timeline

Thanks Darryn for providing some information regarding the Yokomo Wonder Dog Fighter. I have also added it to the timeline.

A beautiful example you have of the car. I look forward to reading the review.

Re: Yokomo Off-Road CarTimeline

Thanks for the comments Eau Rouge. I am not too familiar with the Yokomo's previous to the YZ870C so I apologise for getting the year wrong for the first Yokomo YZ-834B. Thanks for correcting me. Regarding the name Wonder Dog Fighter, I have seen pictures of it on the very informative Tamiya Club We...

Yokomo Off-Road Car Timeline

Hi, Bellow is a Yokomo Timeline of all the Yokomo Off-Road cars that I am aware of. I have heard of other versions (not listed below) such as the 'Craig Drescher' Version but I cannot personally confirm the release of such models (http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=33294). Maybe there ...

Re: What is this Yokie worth?

Hi Toaster, The modification you are talking about was indeed used on Masami's Works 91 car (in prototype form). I have seen that picture in a magazine and it was the car that he used to win the 4wd event at the 1990 Reedy Race of Champions. This modification became a standard feature on the Yokomo ...

Re: What is this Yokie worth?

Mr Lexan, The Yokomo you have is the 1994 YZ10. Your particular model has many upgrades compared to the stock version (Carbon fibre shock towers and upperdeck, Traction control system, ballraced steering with carbon fibre stiffener, titanium turnbuckles, Associated shocks, aluminium hardware and a f...

Ok. Thank you for your response Mr Lexan.

Thank you very much for the link Eau Rouge. I have never seen so many of Masami's RC cars on one site. Only one or two in magazines.

Again, thank you both for your replies.

Sorry to revive this post after such a long time but I would like to know if anyone has pictures (that can be scanned) of Masami Hirosaka's Yokomo's (or RC10's) or links to some websites regarding specifically vintage 4WD racing? Also a question for Mr Lexan. Which "EXTREMELY rare Masami replic...
