Re: Wore out Gold Pan, possible WOIN build
Yeah I already had 2 goldpans on the way and saw this one CHEAP so I figured, why not...could always use a parts car right? Unfortunately, I cant bring myself to just let the thing lay around so thats why Im thinkin its WOIN time...or even make this one into my basher buggy. As soon as the 3rd one s...

Re: Wore out Gold Pan, possible WOIN build
Thanks for the info guys. I've got most of the metal parts in a bowl of pbblaster and I'll see what's salvageable tomorrow. Gonna look at ordering all the parts needed to make this thing a reliable, fun buggy again. I also wanna see if this motor has any life left in it. Love the old school speed co...

Re: First RC10 Goldpans on the way!

Wore out Gold Pan Bronco Buggy
GoldPan #2 just came in...and, like I was suprised how clean and well oiled the other one was when it showed up, Im equally surprised at how tired, broken and dirty this one is. I didnt pay much for it and knew the arm was broken, so Im not worried. Regardless, Im thinkin this will be the perfect do...

Re: First RC10 Goldpans on the way!
Its def. a new adventure for me, but I also have a scaler runnin a 10.5 brushless and another runnin a 7.5 turn but the way they are geared keeps em from bein very quick up top, but when you hit the throttle down low they scream lol. The one with a 7.5 is lowered and set up to handle a little better...

Re: First RC10 Goldpans on the way!
Hmmm...so the issue with the balls not spinning is the width of the spur gear surrounding the ball, not the fact that its too tight and the balls wont spin huh? I might have to check out RJSpeed! In the mean time Im still runnin the spur that came with it. Cant get the ESC to reverse so Ive swapped ...

Re: First RC10 Goldpans on the way!
Got her runnin today after a quick trip to the LHS for some parts. Im gonna swap a 48p Robinson racing spur from one of my SCX10s, just gotta figure out how to make the balls spin a little free-er. Coupld guys at the LHS really liked the car and asked if they could get it off me. I laughed and said ...

Re: First RC10 Goldpans on the way!
I strip lexan bodies all the time for my Scale Crawlers, brake fluid is the best and only every now and then does it destroy what Im workin on and thats usually if I soak it rather than just pour it on and wipe it all over. With these bodies bein so cheap I might still try it just cause I enjoy it b...

Re: First RC10 Goldpans on the way!
Right now Ive got the trans apart, not because it wasnt already in great shape but because I wanna learn how this thing works and I also am thinkin bout stripping the body and painting it myself. The wing is pretty much garbage but the body is in great shape!
