M-05 based VW singlecab
Picked up a nos HPI VW bus a few weeks back, and decided to use a M-05 chassis. To get the fat tires to fit I had to narrow the front & rear track. Also went with rear cantilever shocks. Wheels are HPI cup racer 4 spoke. Front tires are HPI cup racer 26mm wide, and the rears are some fat tires I...

Toyota/Unimog 5th wheel conversion
I was looking for a 5th hauler for my snowcat tilt trailer and decided to build one. I went with the Tamiya Toyota Land Cruiser GF-01 chassis, and a Axial Unimog body, which looked more proportionate than the Toyota body. The 5th wheel mount and micro servo were mounted on the battery lid. I also sw...

Re: Inboard shocks & other stuff
I wasn't happy with the front cantilever shock set up so I went back to something more traditional using Losi 1/18 front shocks. I also included a 4 wd version I built a few months back. http://there.dino.com/harold/photobucket/gplosishocksfrontsm.jpg http://there.dino.com/harold/photobucket/gplosic...

I recently removed these parts from my '84 gold pan. PM me if you still need them.

Gold pan 3/16" front wheel pin drive conversion
Finally got around to converting my old gold pan to 3/16" pin drive. I picked up a pair of Atomic aluminum steering blocks, TA hex front axles for the SC and 4 3/16" i.d. x 5/16" o.d. x 1/8" bearings. I drilled out the opening to 3/16", then used a 5/16" center drill en...

Re: snow buggy
Go for it. I started with an inexpensive tabletop mill & lathe from Grizzly to make some car parts. I think Harbor Freight carries the same stuff under a different brand. For all the stuff I've made over the years more than paid for the tools vs farming it out.

Re: snow buggy
I build one off r.c. cars as a hobby, and a way to come up with machining projects (another hobby). After I've tested them, they end up on a shelf. I will be listing a few for sale to fund other projects.

Re: M05 rear wheel drive & mods
Inboard cantilever front shocks for more tire clearance. The rod ends were drilled and the spring sits inside. I don't have a drive train installed yet so I mounted a dr mad thrust 40mm fanjet to the back for fun.

Re: snow buggy
A few more mods. Changed to full wide Kyosho SR tracks, larger diameter sprockets to clear the relocated upper struts. Made a pair of new front rims to fit the Duratrax mini quake tires. Unfortunately not looking like any more snow in the foreseeable future. Will make a pair of rear rims to run the ...
