Re: Race Modified; Mardave Meteor Project

Nice build. I love the simplicity of the Mardave cars. I have an Apache, a Meteor, a Marauder and 4 Cobras in various states of repair. I also used to race 1/8th scale Mardave nitro stock cars in the early eighties. I've used Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care on my Meteor tyres and it worked a treat wi...

Vintage Serpent Cobra buggy

I picked this up with another car. http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/rr199/orlinonpardus/DSCF2881_zps11d11355.jpg I gave it a clean and under the grime it is in pretty good nick, albeit missing quite a few bits. It's a Serpent Cobra buggy from the mid-eighties. I understand it is pretty rare. Any i...

Re: Kyosho Stadium Baja Beetle - more info

Well I bought it for £31 plus postage. I'll see what it's like when it arrives.

Can someone tell me when this was released? It has an MSC, which puts it mid-90s or before.

Re: What do you consider to be 'vintage' ???

For vintage racing I think the only way you could make classes remotely fair is to draw up a list by model sorted approximately by age, but also moderated by the capability of the model itself. Lots of the 90's Tamiya stuff would get eaten alive by an early RC10 for example. If someone turned up wit...

Kyosho Stadium Baja Beetle - more info

I'm looking at a Kyosho Stadium Baja Beetle on ebay.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI can find very little info on the web about. As far as I can see it is a Kyosho Outrage ST with a Beetle body.
Can anyone give me any more info? Release date, common parts with other models etc.

I do drive it, but now I am learning how rare it is I will have to be careful.
I have a Mardave Cobra that I got very cheap, so maybe I will keep that for bashing!

Re: Possibly got scammed on eBay Fox NIB

This guy is blowing smoke... As already stated, the buyers have way more protection than sellers. Especially if he doesn't provide delivery confirmation or tracking. You will most likely not get the buggy, but you just need to file a case on the issue and you will get your money back. The string of...

Re: UK VONATs?

I'd be interested in attending. I can get to Hinckley without too much trouble.
Any more news about this?

Might I suggest a "show and shine" section too for some of the shelf queens out there?

Re: What do you consider to be 'vintage' ???

I personally think that "classic' is 1984-1987, "vintage" is 1988-1995, and "retro" is 1996-1999- "late model" from 2000-2004 and then modern- I have been racing the "vintage" cars against the modern cars successfully for a while now, although seeing pic...

One of these went for £45 on Ebay UK, watched it and watched it till the very end and never bid. One day... when I am a little more financially secure and don't have to hide it from my wife ;) Yeah, I bought it. Very pleased with it. Good condition with a nice Futaba radio. http://i483.photobucket....

Re: Gold pan question

Prices on RC10 aren't "insane now" at all. There's plenty of great cars being sold for under $100USD and more than a few going for under $70USD. I'm in the UK and RC10s are hard to find here. Someone has told him what it is and the seller has relisted it as an RC10, so I guess there's no ...

Gold pan question

Hi, New here! I'm watching a gold pan RC10 on evilbay that has been listed as something else, so I'm hoping it might go for a good price. I have always fancied one, but the prices are just insane now. The pictures show that the chassis has 4 large square holes in it. The seller says these look origi...
