Re: Rusty RC12E Resto

I've also decided to paint the body from the outside as it has too many dents and dings. Really???? I missed that comment! That's too bad! I would still paint on the inside no matter how many scratches. It's just the correct way for RC. You would have to use 50 layers of clear to get the same resul...

Novak servo would be nice (hard to find $$$) but a Futaba S32 would be correct.
Thanks RC10resto! Just started the search!

Found the time line on Novak's page.

Re: Minty RC12i

Got the 12i in! The car is in amazing shape. Only a little bit of light corrosion from sitting and no missing parts or scratches on the chassis. I have all the paper work from the car too including a complete illustrated 12i manual with seperate sections for the front and rear suspension. Also has t...

Re: Rusty RC12E Resto

I drove the car for the first time Friday night! All I can say is WOW!!! The car is a beast! Way too much power to run in the tiny room I had. The car is a monster without a diff too and wants to spin during acceleration. I quickly adapted to this by correcting the steering prior to accelera...

Re: Rusty RC12E Resto

Started on the body work. This should go fairly smooth though I've created more work for myself by opening up the intakes. I'll be fabricating the duct work from plastic card and molding it in. I hope to have it ready for painting soon. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x277/Jagdgeschwader2/RC12e/I...

Re: How to: Adding tire manufacturer logos to your tires.

Wow, that's cool. Couple things: Does the future / lacquer keep the tires shiny? What kind of VW do you drive? Did you seriously use future on your real car? Does it help keep the tire looking clean? Sorry for the delay but I couldn't log back into the forum for a while. Not sure if it was my crapp...

Re: Minty RC12i

Great buy! I have to admit I was in the fray until near the end. what body are going to go with? You came close to winning it lol! I actually gave up on my last bid and went out for a cruise. I was surprised to see I had won it when I came home later in the day. I'm thinking a TOJ body if I ...

Re: How to: Adding tire manufacturer logos to your tires.

After your Future coat is dry you can now apply the decals. The decals are water slide so just dip them in warm water as you usually do with this type of decal. NOTE: The decals are universal in size so if you have a large tire you might need to cut the decal in two to make it look correct. On 1/12 ...

Re: How to: Adding tire manufacturer logos to your tires.

Now that the tires are masked and clean we can shoot on some Future. Spray several coats on the sidewalls where the decal will be applied. You want a nice glossy smooth finish for maximum decal adhesion. After spraying allow the tires to dry for a minimum of two hours in a dust free enviroment. http...

Re: How to: Adding tire manufacturer logos to your tires.

Now that we have the supplies we can proceed to the next step. Lets make some wheel masks! For large wheel rims just tape several pieces of masking tape together as shown. Use the compass to measure the radius of the wheel rim and then draw it on the masking tape. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Minty RC12i

Just scored the receiver and servo set for the 12i. I'll be using my Futaba FP-T 2F again. Just need to get a matching crystal for the receiver. Found a vintage wiper for the new resistor too! Still need a wiring harness for the resistor. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x277/Jagdgeschwader2/RC12i...
