Re: The Dragula!

What kind of rear tires are you using? Those are vintage tires I received along with the rims. I doubt anyone makes them anymore. You can get new slicks from CRC here: https://www.teamcrc.com/crc/modules.php?name=Shopping_Cart&file=product&c_op=viewprod&prodID=7719704 These will be much...

Re: The Dragula!

...just see it...maybe its possible to gave the front axle a few grades of caster/camber - don`t know the right word -> I mean just lean the "Kingpings" of the steering arms with the upper side a little bit 3-5 grad towards the rear tyres (like this: //)...that makes the car easier on the...

I removed the stock emblems from the rear of my Camaro and added a single SS like the 69 had.

The more I see of these the more interested I become. You've done a great job, love the way it looks. I might have to try building my own.

Re: The Dragula!

I just received these 1/10 scale billet aluminum small block chevy valve covers from RC4WD. This solves one problem. I mocked up how I will build the engine over the battery cover. The battery will install from underneath. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x277/Jagdgeschwader2/20160825_055858_zpsvl...

Re: The Dragula!

Killer project. I've wanted to do something like this just never made it to it yet. Keep up the good work. I like watching your builds Thanks! I hope to get farther on it this week. I'm currently trying to figure out what hardware to use for the steering. I'll probably make my own tie rods to get a...

Re: The Dragula!

Here's a peek at what I'm working on. Got the steering servo mounted, chassis bracing at the firewall is done, hammering and grinding away on the body. Lot's to do! The body so far. Still have tons of forming and cutting to do, I went with aluminum to save weight. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/...

Dad didn't run a car, but used to go to big events a lot. He has some old 8mm movies taken in the 60's from somewhere around Dallas. I'd love to get them put on DVD.
That would be cool to see!

Re: The Dragula!

The one issue with a wide front is the steering could be overly twitchy. Narrowness helps a dragster run straight. Beautiful job of fabrication, of course! 8) Thanks! The whole thing will probably run like crap, it'll sure look cool though. And that's all that matters with this build.

Re: The Dragula!

She's coming along great! I think the scale is spot-on. My dad would get a real kick out of it. He was into drag racing during that era. BTW, what type of battery are you going to squeeze in it? Thanks, I think the front is a little wide, should help with stability though. Did your dad run a car? G...

Re: The Dragula!

I've achieved my goal for this week! I have a roller!! Getting the front end sorted was the hardest part. Now that it's behind me the rest should be fairly smooth. Next week I'll finish cleaning up the cage and then start on building the supports for the rails at the firewall. Then I'll figure out h...
