My 91 RC10 Worlds Replica

Ok, Almost done, just missing the steering ball joints and rod but and quite happy with how its come out, and yes the receiver is wrong but liked what another team driver did on his so copied that until I discovered what receiver was used and am also looking for that. Ive even managed to get hold of...

Re: RC10 B2 conversion to 4wd

Yes, understand but would like the gearbox to lock into the chassis and also be able to use the chassis brace to make sure the gearbox is solid. Still with the bearings in the idler sections the pulley is really free so getting a positive feel already.

Re: RC10 B2 conversion to 4wd

Ok got several 6565 gearboxes but now a problem. The diff wont fit so need to go via shapeways to design the B2 gearbox with the idler gear sections with bearing inserts as this will be really free when all fitted. Also got a B4 layshaft. Also now have an idea for the front gearbox so hope to start ...

Re: Mayor RC/NIXconcepts Carbon Fiber Rear/Mid Motor B3 Proj

From a serious carpet racer who made most carpet A finals in the Uk including British championships feel the same way, lost the passion since the B2/3 got replaced. It really was and still is a fun drive so am going to have these bits from you when you designed it as i can dial this in pretty quickl...

Re: RC10 B2 conversion to 4wd

Ok did a few jobs already. 1. Cut the Chassis for the belt to have free movement 2. Cut the tower 3. File the alloy gearbox brace to make sure the belt doesnt get damaged 4. Take the old chassis plate, kick up plate, wishobone brace, A frame front section and motor mount plate and remove black anodi...

Re: My B3 Project - 15 Years Later

Nice, I would advise filling the lugs away front the front of the wishbones that touch the very front centre hub and put another silver wishbone brace as this strengthens the front a bit more.

Re: RC10 B2 conversion to 4wd

Yes been looking into that, will buy and try, alternative is a 3d version once ive come to a sensible convigeration. That will also work out as i can arrange the screw holes for the chassis and also add a section so the A frame screws onto it making it solidly placed. Also think the only way to do t...

Re: RC10 B2 conversion to 4wd

Been thinking that but think I could cut into the inner ball joint hole at the rear and should give enough room after modding the tower for a free moving belt using the 4ten pulley, but with the 6565 gearbox. I still may get it made via shapeways as the chassis section that locks into the chassis pl...

Re: RC10 B2 conversion to 4wd

Working on the rear gearbox now and my main concern is wont the pulley melt the gearbox, as its not fixed with bearings on the gearbox? I may have to have a 3D version made with bearing sections added.

Re: RC10 B2 conversion to 4wd

Ok stripped car down and metal front and rear chassis plates, alloy A brace and alloy gearbox brace are going to have the anodising removed. Once done will do the rear end first and cut correctly then i will do some designing.

Re: Ten4: the 4WD RC10 project

Ok finally gone through this thread and wow!!! Guys forget Picasso, your artists in your own right. The castor blocks appear brittle so has anyone tried painting anything on like a resin or glue to strengthen it? Once your happy with them will you be doing various degrees ?

Re: RC10 B2 conversion to 4wd

Ok thanks for all this info, its great!!! Heres how i see it, im going to try the ten4 system on the rear first but if it doesnt seem right will see how I can get a slipper plate with pully incorporated but will be a B4 slipper plate as my intension is to use a VTS slipper as it gives a much more sm...

jwscab wrote:Dont forget to drop the kickup to 10 degrees or so
Is this due to it putting the geatbox to high, as if not then may keep it as it is.
