Re: Things that irritate you

I'm an old man, very much set in my ways. Having just been evicted from my long-term laptop home (my Windows 7 laptop would no longer power up, or physically charge the battery), I am now trying to get to grips with a shiny new Windows 11 beast. Fair to say I delayed moving from Windows 7 longer th...

Re: MRC Baja King Ads

At the time I remember it being a new oddball scale they were trying to have catch on that never did. My favorite was the Baja King due to never seeing a stadium truck that big before. It just seemed so awesome to me. I mean it still does. I don't know about replacement tires but I think a...

Re: MRC Thunder King Ads

I was 13/14 at the time, and the first ad with the wall has always stuck with me due to that image.

Re: Let's Talk Tractor / Truck Pulling

It's always a good idea to over beef things as there's a lot of forces involved. I know I know... I have to get working on my garden tractor class puller again. I had jwscab do all the machining on it late last summer. Then I worked on it a bit in the fall when it quickly got too cold to continue. N...

Re: Let's Talk Tractor / Truck Pulling

The hitch actually goes above the axle line these days. You want the front end to be pulled up, then weight is added to counterbalance the effect. This puts a lot more down pressure on the rear tires (fulcrum point) for increased traction. In the sportsman class, the max allowed hitch height is 4 in...

Re: (1986-2005) RC Car Action Archives

I'm signed up with a couple of file storage sites under their free tiers. I can see if there's enough space on any of them to upload these for redundancy.

If worse came to worst, I could always upload them here but they'd require a hefty chunk of storage space I presume.

That is the most rotund goldfinch I've ever seen. We normally have a bunch of them that fly around the backyard every year.

Re: Let's Talk Tractor / Truck Pulling

Yeah, they were sometimes used back in the day as a cheap alternative. I don't know how well they actually did but likely weren't amazing. I mean you're not going to be pulling any major weight with that kind of stuff but it works. The first puller I ever owned was a sportsman with a wire frame chas...

He'll have to wait until he amasses 30 posts as we just put a new rule into effect of no PM usage for new members. Unfortunately, people creating accounts just to hassle other members with zero intention of actually ever using the board has gotten out of hand. And so in the interest of getting to 3...

I'm a Belgian waffle man myself.

The donation system should be back up and running again. I spent an hour and a half reinstalling and setting up the entire thing from scratch only to realize the problem was something else.

Re: Let's Talk Tractor / Truck Pulling

Tabletop pulling has been around since the '70s but you hear/read next to nothing about it these days. Not many people even know it exists. Seems to be predominantly a Midwest thing here in the states. The 'vintage' tabletop pullers were even wilder due to having no control over them besides being g...

Re: Let's Talk Tractor / Truck Pulling

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the carpet big rig pullers the big daddy of the pullers? Always wanted one of these..... still do  DragginWagon.jpg Yeah, I'd say there's a case for that. The carpet pullers in general pull much more weight than their dirt equivalents due to the superior tra...

Re: ** Kyosho JJ Ultima Waffle **

You'll have to bear with me as the donation system no longer appears to be recording any donations made. :? I'm getting the notifications directly from PayPal to my email though, so they can be figured out that way for now. It's just a much slower process.
