Been awhile - what's new?
Hey all, it's been a couple of years since I was active on this forum and I started poking around on the AE website, Castle, Fly Sky among others. Have all my stuff still sitting in boxes, haven't used any of it for a couple years as well. Just got tired of always trying to fix the cars and make the...

Re: My RC10 (runner)
I had thought there were guys here who raced rear motor goldpans against modern cars on the track and did really well. No idea if they raced against mid motor cars though.

Re: My RC10 (runner)
>RC104ever I use front B4 caster blocks and B4 rear hub carriers to lower the ride height. For the current setting of RC10, I try to maximize initial in corners. With the wide rear tread, I could have a good exit speed with less rear roll. Once I design (or set) the car to fit a layout and surface,...

Re: My RC10 (runner)
I must be really slow lately - which rear bulkhead screws are we talking about here? I looked at my cars and can't figure out which ones you guys are talking about. But I like the idea of making it stiffer so I'm up for anything.

Re: My RC10 (runner)
Man I must be getting old and slow because I didn't understand a lot of what you posted and why you did it. For example, the shims in the caster blocks, the rear chassis braces you made (very cool btw). I have never been very good with the tech side of things, I just sort of experiment and see what ...

Re: Is the Javelin next in line?
I read that this is confirmed overseas but not yet here in NA. I was pretty amazed - lots of aluminum parts, including what looks like aluminum wheels and 4wd too? Wow, these things must have been crazy bitd but I'm guessing they would have chewed through batteries like it was going out of style. No...

Re: Looking for a (sane) brushless setup recommendation
Most good brushless setups will allow you to adjust the throttle settings so you could adjust the power output until you get comfortable. I have a 3800 Castle setup and also the Reedy 3300 setup. I found both to be fairly good as upgrades over the stock motors that were brushed back in the day. I al...

Re: Email and Anti Google alternatives?
Interesting. I'm the same - had a yahoo email account, then signed up for a hotmail, then gmail. To me, they are all basically the same. Does your ISP provide webmail? That might be an option as mine does and its quite good. Even has their own spam and virus protection built in. Personally speaking,...

No problem! :) Here is one for sale: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Original-Tamiya-SUPERSHOT-Rear-Damper-Stay-x9712-/282121111799?hash=item41afba88f7:g:t-EAAOSwdzVXoPjZ Thanks but that is really pricey for a rear shock tower. Does anyone make a clone of that part or is there another compatible pa...

thanks SHY! I have the dampers and front aluminum things but wasn't sure where to get the rear shock tower. But I will look around and have another look at your pics. Thanks again!

Re: SHY's Tamiya B.A.R. Honda Hotshot Evolution
Awesome! I have a 99% complete Hotshot but wondered - how do you change the mono shock setup front and rear to the Supershot setup so you can use 4 shocks? Also, I bought an undertray for mine but couldn't figure out how I could put in a lipo without having to take one of the battery holders off eve...

Re: Getting back into racing and have questions?
Well I would say if you want to race the graphite, why not? Keep in mind that all the RC10 classic parts will fit so stock up on some parts and go race! As was already mentioned, definitely upgrade to brushless and lipo as well as newer radio and receiver equipment. You don't need to spend a fortune...

That's awesome! Shows that the original chassis is still good today.
