Re: where did the Futaba Magnum Racer come from?
I had a radio at one time like that, but I thought it was a Magnum Sport. It was like a Magnum Jr. with no fancy adjustments, only trims. Interesting to know there was a "Racer" as well.

Re: 5 link or H arms?
I always ran the H arms after they came out. At the time it was not based so much on performance, but maybe I just wanted it to be more like my Associated. The H arms did seem to give me a little more front end grip. Translation: The rear didn't work as well so it was loose which made the front seem...

Remember in the movie Fletch when he is "inspecting" the airplane and says "It's all ball bearings these days!". IMHO don't mess with bushings.

Re: Replacement Kyosho truck/pickup body
A clodbuster has a 10.63" wheelbase. The juggernaut has an 11" wheelbase. Maybe one of those bodies would come close.

Re: monster jam trucks..
As much as I might not like these trucks, my 6 year old thinks that they are cool. After all, these are the people Traxxas attracts to the hobby. Get them interested, learn a little, then get them an SC10!

Re: a "sandwiched" chassis?
My chassis was so thick that most of the screws were not long enough to engage the bulkheads properly. I blew the rear bulkhead off a few time before replacing the screws.

Re: Grasshopper hop-ups/mods...
The stock steering links leave something to be desired. I like to use a Kimbrough servo saver with some Dubro aircraft ball ends.
