Re: Amusing Engrish typos on Asian R/C parts
I had to read this thread in short sections because I've been laughing so hard I cant focus on reading. This is legitimately hysterical. Found this one a while back: Yeah, that one is logical though, as the commonly used word for "transformation" in Asia is the Japanese word "henkei&...

Re: Tamiya chassis confusion
To expand on @ GoMachV's pretty thorough details, including what @ Frankentruck has mentioned.... mind you, this is all off the top of my head. Basic 4WD touring chassis list and history : TA Series touring cars: Original onroad / light rally 4WD chassis, began with shaft, but then updated to belt ...

For the braces for the suspension arms, Pargu makes them in alloy.

Re: All the Lazers
My big concern at the moment is I replaced the belts with new Tough Racing belts, but ended up with a front belt that's as loose as the one I replaced. Both the eBay ZX-R (pictured behind it) and the Facebook Lazer are pretty taut. This is my first time messing with a Lazer, so I'm not familiar wit...

Re: Parts for a vintage Kyosho
Hello Stuart Just saw this so kinda late but... You might try http://www.kyosho.com/jpn/support/instructionmanual/pureten_fazer/pdf/31396_FAZER_McLaren_F1_GTR_m.pdf Not sure of exact model, but maybe a start. Chuck If it doesn't look like this one, it likely is the 1990s model. I think the manual s...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
The plug looks like 1980s Robbe/Futaba. IIRC, Robbe (like other European manufacturers) often renamed imported products sold under their own name. Yeah, it's a Futaba G-Plug, and likely from before 1985, but I don't think it's a rebranded Futaba servo. The case doesn't match any of their old servos...

Re: Hybrid buggy build
I'm not sure the high-torque servo saver + S3003 servo is a good idea...that may lead to stripped servo gears (which are all plastic on the S3003) because the servo saver spring is too strong for a standard servo like the S3003.

The top of that chassis looks more worn than the bottom
And that front wheel mounting method
Can't imagine that those wheels turned very smoothly and true.
Anyway, I'll be following this.

#3 and #4: I'm tempted to say "very early 1980s or late 1970s Tamiya F1 or F2 car", but don't pin me on that.

Re: Bored? Come To The Chit / Chat Thread
So, I was asking for some more pics for a FBMP ad because my old eyes couldn't see exactly what this vehicle was. I was out and about and couldn't do any research, so I asked the seller for some better pics. They just resent me the ones that were in the ad, which were worthless. So, this is the onl...

Re: Shock ID help: Equalizer shocks?
Those do looks like Kyosho shocks. Equaliser shocks are a bit of a disaster to identify properly because Kyosho produced variants of these shocks under the same part numbers. So it would completely depend on when they were bought. The "H" denotes hard anodized shock bodies, AFAIK, and they...

Re: Original Optima Mid parts
Usually we use electronic speed controls these days, as the mechanical ones tend to wear out (as you've noticed). Considering a cheap brushed ESC such as the basic Tamiya ones can be found for as little as 20-30 bucks, why bother tracking down a mechanical speed control part that has no value at all...
