Re: An idea: New body, retro look.
Sadly though, GIMP like Photoshop takes a while to learn. Awesome results, but as a typical lazy American is there an easier alternative that only requires one click and yields perfect results with no prior training whatsoever?? LOL, yeah :) Hire a graphic designer. ;) Seriously, no, I don't know. ...

Alternative body for Bandit idea. Thoughts request...
I was looking at the gallery here and I saw Janus' Battle bug: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=25205 http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/belgiangp2011/2wd/OOP_1222.jpg And given the lack of good looking aftermarket bodies for the Traxxas Bandit I thought it might be a good idea to copy J...

Re: An idea: New body, retro look.
How'd you make that pic? Just curious. Kinda looks like it would fit an idea I had a while back. Very cool btw. 8) http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=21532 I found a template here: http://www.rctech.net/forum/painting-designs-graphics-photography/60219-blank-templates-designing-paper-...

Re: An idea: New body, retro look.
If you don't like the new shell's shape then have you tried getting the body from another car to fit? I wouldn't mind at all, the two things that would stop me are that it is always nicer to have a body fit flush against the chassis. It survives impacts much better long term, secondly if I could tr...

An idea: New body, retro look.
With the body of my old Bandit being cracked pretty much everywhere, it occured to me that at some point it might require replacing. However, with the old style body being almost impossible to get hold of, it occurred to me the new body could do with a retro treatment: http://www.freeimagehosting.ne...

Re: Hobbies
Let me see: * 1:1 cars: OK, my Camaro is off the road and I haven't tinkered with cars properly since I became a dad. But I used to tinker with my Camaro and my friend's Camaro a lot. I'm generally into American muscle, specifically GM stuff. But that's not t say I don't like Ford, Chryslers, or AMC...

Re: Traxxas TCP gets a makeover.
patience, it is looking great
I am waiting to see the body. I agree on the all black look being nicer, one thing I don't like about Traxxas current crop of vehicles is the addition of cheap looking grey plastic for certain parts.

Re: 24 Hour Race!
I hope he does find a location nearby, looks great and so close to home that it would be very tempting to take the old TL-01 for regular practice sessions.

Re: 24 Hour Race!
WOW! I am in awe :) For someone who has never ever raced an RC car this looks like an amazing event to rival full size motorsports. And those beautifully painted BMW shells sure look second hand after the event! Incidentally, I didn't even know about the Ardent Raceway, and I live nearby... Looks li...

Re: the big 5?
3: Mardave. I don't know what their popularity is like outside of the UK, but due to their low cost, there seems to be a club dedicated entirely to racing Mardaves in just about every part of the UK. I agree with that 100%! UK wise Mardave racing is everywhere. Its just a shame that Mardave as a br...

Re: the big 5?
A bit harsh on poor'ol Traxxas there :) There are some benefits to the 20 year old platform, my 15 year old Bandit still gets great support. OK, agreed it isn't going to go round beating anything else round a track other than a Grass Hopper ;) But there aren't many other 15 year old buggies with rea...

Re: the big 5?
Farmer is onto something here, GM, Ford, and Chrysler are huge sellers. But with the RC manufacturers it has to be a little more subtle perhaps. I reckon: 1) Tamiya: Because they are near ubiquitous, wherever you go there will be Tamiyas for sale somewhere. Tamiya are like the GM of RC cars, and ove...

Re: Shelfers questions... How ready to run are they?
I share that viewpoint markbt73, not that I have any RC cars on a shelf or many RC cars for that matter... But if I did I'd like to be able to keep them in running order. But as you say, there's a time issue, so the reality may be that I couldn't do it. And sheriff, absolutely :) I fully appreciate ...

Shelfers questions... How ready to run are they?
Hi guys... After recently nigh on fully refurbishing my old Traxxas Bandit in preparation for racing it. It occurred to me that part of me kinda just wants to put it back on display where it had been for the last 3 years or so after becoming a dad. It also occurred to me that on the shelf it aged qu...
