Re: Discussion about possible aluminum transmission and part
Most anything in aluminum would be nice, but one part comes to mind: the exposed bearing on the 6-gear tranny. Years ago, there was a company called Racemaster that made aluminum ones with a flange that you could put a cap from a motor brush tube (remember those?), and it kept the dirt out.

Re: Cars from your youth
I always wanted a 1970 Chevelle SS....but I'd be happy if someone made a realistic 1/10 body.

Re: Russ' "Not-vintage-but-still-a-Losi" Project
Thanks...I know it isn't as "professional looking" as most of the rides here, but I had a good time making it. I'm debating on dying all the fiberglass, but I don't really care to deal with the mess (or my wife's complaining).

Russ' "Not-vintage-but-still-a-Losi" Project
Well, I've been in the building mode lately, so I debated selling my Mini-T Pro to finance a new project. After seeing that they were worth next-to-nothing on the ebay market, I've decided to do some experimenting. My objectives were to go with 1/10 scale, and no modification to existing parts, in c...

Pulling the front wheels halfway down that long straight was defeating the purpose of the qualifiers, but the entertainment was just too cool!
Glad to hear you're feeling better, Ruffy.

I had great time watching you guys run. Sorry to hear about your mishap...I've been there before. Motrin 800mg was the "cure all" when I was in the military, and I still use the over the counter ibuprofen. I also found Excedrin Migraine formula worked better for me than the prescription Zo...

Re: Spring Fling in Winter Haven Florida April 8-10, 2011
Well I finally got to put some faces to the names/cars...It was great to meet Ruffy and Jeff Harris, and see the gold tubs alive and well. Best of all, I never thought I'd ever see a bunch of them together on the racetrack...Thanks guys.

Re: My first RC10 cleanup
Look into RJSpeed. I picked up a 48p/81t spur gear that is a direct fit for the 6gear tranny.benny wrote:It is 32p now, I was thinking of changing to 48p if possible.

Personally, I think the gold tub is the "trademark" of the RC10...No substitute IMO. If you like aftermarket goodies, look into other things, like bellcranks and CVDs.

Very cool looking Javelin...I've always loved the classic bodies, but I'm not much into race cars anymore. Here's mine.

Re: Parma body poster
I don't see my favorite one...Parma's "Pinto Modified". It was similar to the "AMC Spirit Modified", but was more rounded in the back. It had header pipes and the air filter sticking out. I used to run a wing and race it on dirt oval back in the 80's. The body was a direct fit fo...

Thanks for the tip, but I think I'll hold off and continue hunting a Losi or RPM bellcrank...maybe I'll get lucky.

Re: Russ' "New" old goldpan
It's been a while, but the car is now "complete". I'll refrain from using the term "finished", because they never are. Anyway, I picked up a body and motor for cruising the street (just waiting on my NIB Bolink foams to arrive via ebay). The body, as you can see, is very simple u...
