Re: YZ10 rims - to drill or not to drill?

True. Maybe I'll give them a nice photo of mine to use :D

The ones I got were fine, no defects. A little flashing maybe, but easily sorted with a sharp scalpel.

I think the dish wheels collect less dirt than the five-spoke and look good too.

YZ10 rims - to drill or not to drill?

I've got some JC Racing YZ-10 wheels for my Procat. Is it worth drilling the extra pair of holes in the rims or is two enough? I also wondered why there were only 2 holes if the wheel fitment had four screws? Thanks for any comments.

Re: Procat rebuilt for Li-Fe batteries

I think that's what causes bump steer. The steering link on the ballraced steering sits lower than the stock steering... so that is also a factor. I've just realised I left out a piece all along - the spacers for the steering joints. I think this is why the toe in went wrong at full droop. According...

Re: Procat rebuilt for Li-Fe batteries

Those look good. They look very chunky... too much offset?

Re: Farewll to a favourite, on to a better life as a shelfer

Cheers Darryn, Jeff said the same too. I'm happy to go with what more experienced racers advise :D I'm quite good at builiding them and doing modifications but need to improve my driving. I want to get some urethane belts for the rear but I don't know the pitch. I don't mean the old MXL pitch for th...

Looking for a long driveshaft (cash or trade)

In my haste to sell off parts I have ended up with an odd number of driveshafts. I need a long one and can trade a short one. Can anyone help me out please?

Re: Farewll to a favourite, on to a better life as a shelfer

Thanks, my aim is to get it racing well so I can keep up at club level. Let me know your ideas, it's so interesting to see what people come up with. The shell is a repro of the original Procat shell from Team Bluegroove. The funky design is by Jon at RCS Graphic Worx. I'm actually selling one of my ...

That is one sweet car... yes, I would be sad to see it go too :(

I've vowed never to sell my racer...

Re: Procat rebuilt for Li-Fe batteries

If you're racing indoors, how about Schumacher mini-pins or mini-spikes on JC Racing rims?

Re: Schumacher Cat XLS runner

Thanks (is it Doug?) I'm not putting insane power through it (6.6v) so I'll see how I get on with two screws, but thanks for the tip. Yes, will definitely use a bit of threadlock. I'm also going to use a 25mm hex head screw so I can use a lock nut to keep the wheels on (like other cars)

Re: Schumacher Cat XLS runner

Hi Dangermouse, I've just got hold of some Yokomo wheel adapters for my Procat. Did these work well for you? Do you have any tips for installing them?

Re: Topcat/Cougar Thrust Bearing

The bearing comes with two thrust plates, one with i.d. 3mm and one about 3.2mm. Only one of these will fit over the 1/8 diameter axle hence you need to buy two bearings. That's what I found anyway. If you find a proper 1/8 bearing with two larger plates let me know :D Yep, don't forget the disc spr...

Re: Topcat/Cougar Thrust Bearing

3x8x3.5mm thrust races are readily available from eBay but because the Procat axles are 1/8 inch (about 3.2mm) only one of the thrust plates will fit. I had to buy two bearings to make one. Is this also the case with the Topcat axle?
