Re: Mr Gut's 870C Project

Cheers Lee. In other news, I had a bit of free time this afternoon so I decided to start stripping the car down. Lots of old servo tape stuck to the chassis and some clown decided it would be a great idea to glue the steering servo down. Lovely. phpOsRN4WAM.jpg That'll be fun to remove. Best break o...

Re: Wescom/Hirobo Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 rally car.

I love these Wescom/Hirobo rally cars. Very rare bits of kit and the 205 Turbo 16 is one I'd love to own. In the mean time I'll have to make do with this never run Toyota Celica GT4. :D

Mr Gut's 870C Project

I enjoyed tidying up my YZ10 94. Probably one of the nicest buggies I've worked on so far and I've been hankering for another vintage Yoke project since completing the YZ10. I've always liked the look of the 870c so that's what I was going to go for. Took a bit of time but I've finally found one tha...

Great to see you over here mate. Looking forward to seeing how the Optima will turn out (it's got to be better than when it left here  )

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94

Stick wise I've got a Planet T5 set up that's been adapted for land use. Used and in all weathers and the handset now looks rough but works like a charm and good value too. Six channel too so ideal for my Tamiya 3 speeds. I've recently gone over to a Spektrum steerwheel set up. It did take me a whil...

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94

Modern 2.4ghz radio is a must too in my opinion. Really wouldn't trust using radio gear as old as the car. Last thing you want is your car running away from you due to old unreliable radio gear.

Old And New RC10T's

Having a few RC10's under my belt now it was only a matter of time that I'd get myself the truck version. So here is my latest aquisition. Bought this one from a mate of mine, infact the same person who I bought my Team Car and RPM chassied RC10 from. It's in great condition, really looks as though ...

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94

I personally think a 7.5 turn brushless would be way too much for it. The other two options I think would work well. I'd personally try a 17.5 turn in there as I reckon the 21.5 would be a little too slow for it.

Re: Sludge's JRX2 Pro

Well, just got it out of storage and it looks worse than I remember with thick rust on anything metal and certainly a hell of a lot dirtier than I remember. It also appears getting hold of the correct style shell and wheels will be harder than I imagined as I think they differ from the standard JRX2...

Re: YZ10, full rebuild!

I suppose I could do that Lee but it's all stuck down now and servo tape is a precious commodity here :D I'll use your method when the car needs doing up again though.

Would be interesting to find out about these different labelled Cyclones.

Re: YZ10, full rebuild!

That's a very neat install Lee. I wish I did mine as neat as that but the power cap on my Cyclone is huge so I had to mount mine length ways down the chassis as it fouled the belt mounted transversely. I noticed your Cyclone has the the word 'Cyclone' written in purple and the one in my YZ10 has the...

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94

Cheers Lee. The YR4 M2 came out quite a bit after the YZ10 94 if I remember correctly? I shall keep an eye out for another Epic or similar for the time being. Might even have something that'll do the job kicking about in my spares stash but that'll be a mission in itself looking through that lot. :l...

Re: YZ10 Super Dogfighter 94

A 19T it shall be then :D Was the Pro Stock II motor around when this car was new? I know it sounds a bit anal but I would like to keep at least the ESC and motor period correct if possible.
