Re: Debunking an old rumor
Yeah, I remember stock motors being a "luck of the draw" situation back in the eighties. Everyone had their method of trying to pick a motor that would be faster, one guy who worked at a LHS would spin all the new stock motors by hand and pick a few out for himself - didn't seem to help hi...

Re: Mod Motor
As far as mods go, I have always liked Trinity SpeedGem series. Pretty sure they are still available. Recently had bad luck with the Venom series. Momo I certainly agree with the SpeedGems recommendation - real good motors. I have, thus far, had good luck with the new-style Venom motors (the ones w...

Very impressive build! Good luck with further tuning... perhaps a higher turn motor will make it easier to control? No??? Is there such thing as TOO MUCH POWER??? I don't know...

Excellent! Comes together like an OEM designed package - chassis, wheels, body and paint are well integrated.

I have been very happy with a couple six-cell packs of Intellect IB-4200mAh cells that I got for around $35 each - great punch, long run times...

Team Checkpoint makes awesome brushed motors, something like this "Tebo Edition" 10T beast, would definitely make the kids ask what you're running: http://cgi.ebay.com/Team-Checkpoint-Tebo-Edition-10T-Off-Road-Truck-Motor_W0QQitemZ260353036657QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_Control_Parts_Accessor...

Re: My Gift to a great mate on his 40th Birthday. Mugen Bulldog
Wonderful story and excellent build. I also had a Bulldog BITD, but, as a kid, I never could get it to run very well... :? I have several now - one mostly stock runner, one new-built (without wheels/tires @#!), and enough parts for a couple more... I have been looking for new (or even nice) wheels/t...

go brushless with a 2 cell Lipo & a motor in the 4000Kv range-- you will not be able to wipe the smile off of your face, if you can keep the front wheels on the ground.  I'm running the traxxas 3500Kv motor with both the Mamba Max & the Traxxas Brushless ESC-- both are a TON of ...

Re: Perfect gearing / motor setup for the buggy?
The 19T will be more powerful, as well as more mildly tuned (i.e. - more efficient, partly due to ball-bearings). 27T motors are great, torquey motors, but, they are highly tuned to get every last bit of power out of the 27 turn restriction (they also run bushings instead of ball-bearings, per the R...
