Re: Joel 'Magic' Johnson's 1987 IFMAR 2wd winning Ultima
Pierre's done a replica of the 87 Joel Johnson car. here's a link to his gallery. http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=30992&hilit=joel+johnson+ultima+replica+1989 Might be of some help. I don't think any cutting of the bulkhead was necessary for the battery to fit, he used a longer ...

Re: **Contest Questions/Comments**
Look, I know this is RC10talk and all, so I understand the origin of the contest as AE stuff only. However, maybe once in a while we could have a NO AE vehicle restriction?? Or a month where its not LIMITED to AE vehicles? I built an RC10 for nostalgia too, and probably will again one day, but I and...

I will let everyone in the know throw more info about it :) Everyone "on the know is already here...and already knows that that aint happenin'. Welcome to the board though Patriiick. FWIW its unlikely you'll get the scoop on any developments on the vintage RC front on anyone here. Do a search,...

Re: Turbo Raider Pro XL 4WD
Cool idea Dennis. I've been wanting to build something to honor the fact that I started this great hobby with a Raider. I envisioned a LWB Ultima, with the OG Raider body...another wolf in sheep wool...

OG truck wheels are the same dimension as new school for tires... 2.2 diameter by 2.something wide.

Re: Finally made the jump to LiPo
I got my new pack, and soldered it up... runs great. The power output of these batteries is amazing. I now understand all this stuff about pulling wheelies even when you at half throttle by juicing i too much. (Im using a sensorless reedy setup too.) On that note, when I was using this mtor esc w/ n...

Re: RPM "truck arm" based buggy
If you are right on the limit, with olde offset rims..... How about new school rims/tires. you may be on to something here without using the wide gt axles and the negative effects of that setup.

you think of everything.

Re: What POSSIBLE reason........
Yeah, forgot about the high FDR on the UM box... and the need for low ratios w/ the 17.5s. In that case, wouldn't you be better off with the 2.25 stealth? Plus new parts availability to boot :D Erik did one of these transplants a wile back and used a similar mounting system. http://www.rc10talk.com/...

I like the blue too Jeff. Of course I liked the copper. WHen will we see the Purple, Red and Green?! I'm rally flat out jealous of these two new ultima's you have done. There has been so little Ultima customizing on the site compared to all the 10's. I understand that because RC10s are SO ...

Re: What POSSIBLE reason........
I appreciate what your doing with the associated trans and all ( been thinking about a B4 trans in one myself), but if all you would potentially run in it was 17.5 or stock, the stock trans would be totally fine. I don't think that a slipper is all that necessary for a modern runner of a vintage car...
