Re: jconcepts detonator for rc10
A Dirt Hawg-like all-terrain tire would be really nice. Tamiya has a couple options, but a better compound would be a good thing.

Re: jconcepts detonator for rc10
I don't know how you associated this body with that GI joe helicopter but it really does have that same shape  I knew it reminded me of some attack helicopter, but it wasn't quite the Apache. Not sure how I came up with it, and I didn't remember the toy name, but I know lots of GI Joe vehicles...

Re: Self Threading holes
The drill size to tap a 4-40 is a #43 drill bit (0.089"), and 8-32 is a #29 (0.136"). http://www.boltdepot.com/fastener-information/US-Tap-Drill-Size.aspx You can always use a tap, cutting or roll-forming (tighter hole). A little small is OK, but if the material is too hard you can crack i...

Re: RE-RE RC10 Instruction Errors
Except for which outdrive gets the thrust bearing and which outdrive gets the nut, and which side the nut should end up on, I could pretty much build any Stealth-based car without a manual.GreenHell wrote:I'm going to disregard the re-re manual entirely (built enough RC10's I shouldn't need one anyway).

Re: RE-RE RC10 Instruction Errors
put a spacer behind the lower shock mount. I did not notice that before, but I will add a spacer. Thanks! Six of one, half a dozen of the other, for the most part. The spacer on the lower mount puts more stress on the screw, and will lead to more flexing in the suspension overall, but you don't hav...

Re: jconcepts detonator for rc10
The spirit of the Detonator lives in the 1980’s, starting with the rear biased, over rear tower, hung cab, large window detail and roll-bar treatment outlining the stout individual pillars. The side-pods are simple, yet effectively cover the iconic aluminum tub chassis and skate by the latest in in...

Before After Make it nice looking, people will buy it... Make it homely... 'some' people will buy it.

Re: RE-RE RC10 Instruction Errors
I went with the 5/8 in of fuel tubing. Agree that three spacers are perfect if you're using the outer holes. I used four .125" spacers along with the two kit .031" spacers, and that is just a little too much down travel. Five .125" spacers, 5/8" worth, would be perfect. I don't ...

Re: SteveK's Classic build.
I've never had a Protech body before, so I don't know how it is supposed to fit.

Re: SteveK's Classic build.
I can't seem to get the stock body to fit quite right. It looks like the chassis is wider than the inside of the body, and it has to be pressed down over it to sit flat. Made a bit of a hack job cutting up the front end to try and sit right, so I won't be putting any effort or using the kit decals o...
