Re: CV Joints for Rocky/Raider and Other Hardware Alternatives
Has anyone noticed that "universal" swing shaft OTW125C for the rere Optima kits practically drop right into the Raider? Sorry for the cross post , but I thought it might be relevant here. kyosho-raider-pro-axle-uj-length.jpg You have to leave the red shim out, as it is slightly too thick....

Re: Raider Pro Resurrection
So I was making some adjustments to the front end of my Optima Mid Rere and I remembered that I wanted to compare the new OTW125C universal swing shafts to the stock Raider axles. Has anyone noticed that they practically drop right in? kyosho-raider-pro-axle-uj-length.jpg You have to leave the red s...

Re: Raider Pro Resurrection
My son's friend 3D-printed a replacement rear shock stay on a resin printer. It feels kind of brittle, but it will hopefully hold it together on the shelf.

Re: Raider Pro Resurrection
So I have had some fun with this car, but I seem to break something on it almost every time I take it out. First I broke a front knuckle when I clipped a curb. I found an RD-3 parts tree on eBay and re-made the steering setup to prevent that from happening again. Recently I flipped it and snapped th...

Re: Raider Pro Resurrection
I was able to resurrect the torched 16x2 Mega Motor using parts from another motor off of eBay. kyosho-raider-pro-mega-motor-16x2-burned.jpg Seems to work OK...just needed a facelift. kyosho-raider-pro-mega-motor-16x2-restored.jpg kyosho-raider-pro-mega-motor-16x2-installed.jpg Ready for some speed ...

Raider Pro Resurrection
I finally finished my Turbo Raider Pro restoration project that started in January when I pulled my old RC stuff out from my parents' attic. It was partially reassembled with the stock Outlaw motor after I had wrecked it in the mid-90s trying to run a hotter motor (which caused the MSC contacts to w...

Re: Grasshopper II Black Edition Rear Springs
Yeah, I get that it is pretty hopeless. I think I'll try to wind some springs myself and see if I can make my younger son's GH2 (with CVAs) jump more like my older son's GH2BE. I'm content with the Hornet running the stock rears.

Grasshopper II Black Edition Rear Springs
Hello all, long-time lurker here that got back into the hobby recently. Any GH2 Black Edition owners out there? Did you notice that the rear springs for the included CVAs are incredibly light? As in, lighter than the stock GH2 rear springs? So light that they barely rebound? I was running CVAs on my...

Getting back into RC after ~30 years
Long time lurker here; finally joined. Like so many others, I'm getting back into RC after leaving the hobby in the 90's. I found some Tamiya rere kits for cheap around Xmas and picked-up a couple of Grasshopper II's for our two boys. A cheap Traxxas would probably have been a better idea, but I was...
