Re: Engines
Yea do they still sell rebuild kits for those old OS motors I’ve never rebuilt one before I was younger when I had all my old ones and sold all of it after I got my license lol Missed your question earlier somehow, sorry about that, I've looked for the piston and sleeve kits for the older OS .12, t...

Re: (2) RC10GT's - Black Tub and Plastics - #7065
If you do decide to mount the body put a small dab of grease on two of the body mounts, line everything up and set the body down. Drill those two holes. Put grease on the other two body posts and repeat processes above... Viola' That's a great idea, I'll do that for the little magnets that come wit...

Re: (2) RC10GT's - Black Tub and Plastics - #7065
Instead of drilling holes for the spoiler you could use a few small pieces of servo tape. I have the Tamiya pin vise and some bits for it coming, should be as precise as can be. I need to get one of those inexpensive laser centering devices too, should've used one of those from the beginning to lin...

Re: (2) RC10GT's - Black Tub and Plastics - #7065
Thanks again to romulus22 , he PM'd me a site that has the #7185 Truck Spoiler, ordered it. Got all of the decals cut and put on. https://i.imgur.com/bGuMJOi.jpg https://i.imgur.com/3ARrPcX.jpg https://i.imgur.com/0YH7e88.jpg When the spoiler gets here, the body will be completed. #2 still needs Rx ...

Re: (2) RC10GT's - Black Tub and Plastics - #7065
The GT has been out for over 30 years now. I've had #1 for about 27 years, but hadn't thought about it since '03. Thanks for bringing me up to speed, I finally got there.
I can wait for a #7185 to appear. Glad I didn't drill the body for the JConcepts spoiler yet.

Re: (2) RC10GT's - Black Tub and Plastics - #7065
If you want an exact replica, you need the old one. You may be able to fold the jconcepts to look like Boxart. But the old one just needs to be trimmed. I understand now, neither the JConcepts, or # 7185 are like the boxart. https://i.imgur.com/IJjx9dJ.jpg I would have to get an NOS spoiler that wo...

Re: (2) RC10GT's - Black Tub and Plastics - #7065
To make sure I'm understanding this correctly: If I want mine to look exactly like the boxart spoiler, I should get the JConcepts vintage GT spoiler, and trim it to look that way, and not get the # 7185 Truck Spoiler?
Thanks again, @romulus22.

Re: (2) RC10GT's - Black Tub and Plastics - #7065
Regarding your post earlier about not fitting the later towers - since GT towers aren't stupid money yet you can cut the ears off the shock tower, it doesn't look quite right but will allow you to mount the body properly. Ideally you'd need a set of repro towers but cutting them will get you by. I'...

Re: (2) RC10GT's - Black Tub and Plastics - #7065
I know my kit never came with that spoiler, I was always wondering why they showed it on the box. Thanks RC10th for the part number: #7185 Truck Spoiler, I'll keep my eyes open. If JConcepts is building a a vintage GT body, I would've figured they'd include the era specific spoiler. It looked as tho...

Re: (2) RC10GT's - Black Tub and Plastics - #7065
Should've looked more closely at the box before cutting the wing. https://i.imgur.com/IJjx9dJ.jpg The left and right edges of the wing curl towards the vehicle in the boxart. I just followed the cut lines on the wing itself, which have you trim that off. https://i.imgur.com/PLrSrky.jpg JConcepts doe...

Was a good thing the stock tires and rims were never glued together, easier to clean this way.

Just checked Romulus22's GT thread, the tires I have look right.

Re: (2) RC10GT's - Black Tub and Plastics - #7065
Was going through the engine install manual today. https://i.imgur.com/T8kYHJm.jpg And spotted something I don't remember ever seeing, body finishing tips in the engine manual. The most interesting thing was in the top pic, they show where the fuel door is supposed to go - above the Accel sticker. h...

Re: (2) RC10GT's - Black Tub and Plastics - #7065
The Andy’s body I posted in your thread has never been mounted, I bought it pretty recently. The autographed body is on my box art truck. https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=23031 You did an amazing job on yours, down to the correct heatsink on the head. Got the engine back together, and short...

Nicely done! Did you use a black AE decal on the front bumper? (page 6 middle of thread)
