Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
Got confirmation today that the Bolink BL2254, 63 Corvette Coupe bodies will be here next week. The Parma 63 Corvette body would be the most correct for TDP vette, as I now know, but when I watched the movie as a kid the thing that caught my eye was the wheels and knock offs. If I can get those exac...

Doesn't get any better or more clear than that! Huge thanks to @Phin and @MarkyDents!Phin wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 7:20 pm Here ya go...MarkyDents has MM wheel dimensions posted here: https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?p=521900#p521900
They're the 3 slot version (A10-F3S & R3S) but dimensions should be the same.

Re: Spun aluminum RC10 wheels
MarkyDents , did you ever get tires for these? I'm trying to get the 5 bean version of these Mini-Mags reproduced, would you mind if I used your excellent pics to show the machinist how it was done? Can I also use your pics for reference in my, RC Corvette The Dead Pool thread? Those rims are sweet!

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
@Phin, to make certain I'm understanding the dimensions completely: The front wheels are 1.7" diameter/no-hub/RC10 bearings - the rear wheels are 1.6" diameter/no-hub/RC10 bearings. Would you happen to know the width of the front and rear wheels, also? I need to be able to tell the CNC ma...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
These are the correct wheels from the Advance catalog page above. https://www.rc10talk.com/download/file.php?id=169869 So the rears are 1.6" OD one piece wheels (no hub adapter)...and the fronts are also one piece wheels and should have an OD of ~1.7" because they were meant for 1.5"...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
After looking at pictures and reading numerous posts, here’s my best estimate on the wheels: Rear - 1.5” OD, 1.3” Width, 0.15” Negative Offset, Foam Tires Front - 1.5” OD, 0.7” Width, 0.19” Negative Offset, Foam Tires with 4 grooves Does this seem reasonable? Hopefully I calculated the offset corre...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
It's a Parma body. I found an eBay auction with a poorly painted Parma 63 vette body. If the line on the roof of the Bolink, or TBG 63 vette is the only wrong thing, I'm ok with that compared to this - not just the color, the mold looks not as crisp or detailed: https://www.ebay.com/itm/175547337083

Got the magnetic body mounts the right angle and height on the four corners of the chassis of #2. https://i.imgur.com/L15bWp4.jpg Just have the front magnets stuck on for now, waiting for the 0 deg. rear suspension mount and a good spoiler to arrive, in order to add the back magnets. Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
I was convinced the original TDP body was the Bolink BL2254 63 CV Coupe, but I could certainly be wrong: https://www.rjspeed.com/images/images/Bodies/BoLink%20Body%20pics/2254.jpg These bodies would've been available in '86-'87 when the movie was made. Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
There has to be a story behind the front license plate. It is different in one of the photos. I wonder if Jay crashed the car at some point or maybe it just took a beating. The front plate matches the rear in most pics, but shows damage in some. This photo has the different number plate: I remember...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
Changing to a foam tire configuration just means having a smooth, no rib outside. That should be easy enough. When I got my wheels, Dhawk didn't have the smaller rear wheels in their product offerings. They do now, at least as 3 piece wheels. Nice! Now I'm feeling like I should get a set for rubber...

So glad to hear I didn't discover another bogus site, and that https://muddslidemotorsports.com/ is legit!
I also didn't get an Out of Stock email regarding the bodies today, so I'll assume it's a go.
Thanks as always @Dangeruss!

Whoa! Awesome! Stinger hood means it is a big block car, correct? :D (Ford guy, so Corvette knowledge is limited and likely mistaken) Thanks 1911Colt ! You're exactly correct it's a big block, this was a 427 Tri-Power roadster. We're not sure why, but my Stepfather sold the 427 engine/tri-power car...

@Frankentruck, I forgot to ask if you intended to run foam tires, or rubber? Are these rims set up for rubber?
