Re: Nitro Rush (RS2 ST) electric conversion.
Well done... the motor/electronics install almost looks factory... a lot to wedge into such a small space. Classic Kings were a way better choice over the stock wheels, especially with the WWII paint job, which looks awesome. Thanks! I always try to go for a 'factory-look' when I do these conversio...

Re: Nitro Rush (RS2 ST) electric conversion.
Very nice themed paint job and wheels to match, came out great!!! Looks like that motor mount is long enough for some massive gearing! There's definitely room there for a bigger spur but the design is kind of bad for larger gears. The original spur was a 56 tooth MOD1 gear and it was huge compared ...

And it's all done. The tires are the icing on the cake. I couldn't be happier with how this turned out.

Team Bluegroove reproduces that body, so it's still available if you want a new, undamaged one.

Re: Nitro Rush (RS2 ST) electric conversion.
Well, I thought I was done. Then I found a set of wheels - HPI Classic Kings - that look remarkably close to the full-scale P-51D wheels that I based the livery on. But they only came with 12mm hexs, no "front" wheels. So I had to do a hex conversion on the front, which luckily Firestorm p...

All done. Right now I stuck with the default Nitro Rush wheels/tires because I...

Re: Nitro Rush (RS2 ST) electric conversion.
That's an excellent paint job! Any background to the design? Looks like maybe a WW2 fighter or bomber tribute? It's kind of 2-fold. The original Nitro Rush RTR bodies were bright yellow so I wanted a scheme that incorporated yellow. I was doing an unrelated search for P-51D color schemes (I also fl...

Body's all done. Just waiting for wheels and tires now.
I'm kind of proud of how this body came out.

Nitro Rush (RS2 ST) electric conversion.
This was my 2nd nitro truck after my RC10GT. I got it when I was still in high school and ran it for a few years until the NitroStar engine took a dump and I got tired of buying spur gears for it. It was infamous for eating its own spur gears. The truck sat around for years and became a donor for be...

Re: The next rere... a GT?!!
I received a reply back from K&B and they are looking into packaging their USA made .18 into a non pull start. She said they have plenty of components to do it and they would get back to me with details soon. Oh, and Force is hardly a knock off. They were a pretty decent engine back in the 9ps ...

I don't see Associated telling customers to put a Traxxas motor in their GT's... imagine the meltdown buyers would have... https://media2.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTc5MGI3NjExd2Y0bjk2cHRrY2tqdG1rdzBwdHh5aTh2eDBhaTk2NmJ2OXg1amczeCZlcD12MV9pbnRlcm5hbF9naWZfYnlfaWQmY3Q9Zw/J3T9b6JFfxFT2/giphy.webp Haha. ...

Re: The next rere... a GT?!!
If AE is serious, they really should do what they can to help customers source reasonably priced nitro engines that drop in with no modifications. Engine availability will certainly impact sales for the new GT. Sorry for stating the obvious. I'd venture a guess that a motor will become avail...

Re: RC10GT shocks - Sport, Team, RTR
I see it as a sliding scale. They all suck but the degree of suck varies. Tamiya's CVA shocks are probably the least sucky to build with Losi's old bottom-loaded being the worst, and everything else falling somewhere inbetween.

Brand new old-stock Team shocks. Just finished building and installing them.
I still hate building Associated shocks, but I can't argue with the results. The smoothest shocks I've ever owned...
