Re: BloodClod's Yokomo 834B
It looks very tidy , I could never change mine from mono shock but your shock tower look very neatly done , you mentioned widening the rear , how did you do that ? Thanks! You're not the first 834B fan to tell me that they would never remove the front monoshock - my friend tiger1 said the very firs...

Re: BloodClod's Yokomo 834B
The suspension didn't feel right on the bench so I designed some new blocks for the rear to revise the geometry - particularly to stand the rear shocks more - and it was just so much better. With everything in the ballpark I carefully cut my shell to fit around the new suspension mounts front and re...

Re: BloodClod's Yokomo 834B
Tried another version of the front shock tower. Please forgive the very old basher body that came with this car when I bought it years ago. This new tower should allow the cover to be cut so that the front can still be retained to extend in front of the shock tower itself. http://www.raceworks.sg/bc...

Re: BloodClod's Yokomo 834B
Designed and cut out a front shock tower - it was designed to fit modern 3" buggy shocks. Also widened the rear a tad. http://www.raceworks.sg/bc/834b/834b_06.jpg Quite like how the car is turning out so far. The shocks definitely need some setup as the fronts are way too stiff and the rears to...

Re: BloodClod's Yokomo 834B
Awesome...I wish I could make parts like those. I think front twin shocks are a must. Would the rear roll bar help too? I will definitely be trying to add in that rear roll-bar in a nice fashion. :) Meanwhile I popped by the hobby store and althought they didn't have any turnbuckles long enough for...

BloodClod's Belt-Drive Yokomo 834B
This Yokomo 834B last saw action in 2010 when we had a local vintage event - after which it was put on a shelf and untouched for the last 7 years. lol! :) http://www.raceworks.sg/bc/834b/834b_00.jpg Standing proud at NOOB Vintage 2010. I happened to visit rc10talk recently and as it so often happens...

Re: BloodClod's Project Blackfoot
Just stumbled upon this thread: FREAKING AWESOME!! My brother had a Blackfoot and I loved that thing! I wanted a Monster Beetle but never got around to purchasing one... :( This thing is so sick; I can't even imagine what the "finished" (if there ever is such thing) product will be like!!...

Re: BloodClod's Project Blackfoot
The rain still comes and goes just enough to keep the offroad track wet. :( The truck has been a blast to run everywhere else though. lol! I was checking up on the diff and took a picture to show my take on the "oldfrogshot" mod. I started with the stock outdrives and like everyone else ju...

Re: BloodClod's Project Blackfoot
The steering system works very well and achieves 2 things. The first is near zero bump-steer. thats crazy.. i remember jumping blackfoots, super blackfoots, and king blackfoots . if you jumped and got about 2 feet air sometimes the ballend would pop off cause they had so much bump steer. great job i ...

Re: BloodClod's Project Blackfoot
I managed to hook up the rest of the truck tonight. The steering system works very well and achieves 2 things. The first is near zero bump-steer. I took the following 2 pictures to compare the steering at normal ride height and with the suspension fully compressed. http://www.cool.per.sg/external_li...

Re: BloodClod's Project Blackfoot
Thanks guys, glad you guys like the build so far. :) Nice! Gotta love a good Blackfoot. I have 3: one restored shelfer, one runner with some vintage hop-ups, and one in pieces that will someday get an "old is new" treatment like this. (In fact, I'll probably "borrow" some of your...

BloodClod's Project Blackfoot
Hi guys, thought I'd share a little on my latest project. Bought this truck off ebay some time ago and finally got around to working on it. As I took it apart I was quite disappointed at the state it was in with many parts cracked or broken, wrong screws/nuts used, etc... Fortunately most of the ess...

Re: A slightly different Blackfoot III...
I was cracking my brain thinking of a way of cutting new wishbones to narrow the wheelbase of the truck... which needed new dogbones, etc... then it dawned on me that a simple wheel swap could do just that! Here's the Blackfoot, now it's dimensions are very very close to that of the original! http:/...

Re: A slightly different Blackfoot III...
Very nice work on the chassis. what wheels are those I have never seen them before. Thanks. Those are wheels from a Thunder Tiger truck. I think it was called the SSK. They were reasonably cheap and came pre-glued... even the tires looked pretty close to the ones on the Tamiya trucks. Actually the ...
