Re: Before and after Scorpion body restore

Ive never had any luck stripping paint off of bodies. It seems any thing capable of removing the paint affected the lexan with cracks & brittle edges. I dont recall trying nitro fuel though. Do you know what kind of paint was on there? I have a couple bodies I'd like to re-do, but don't want to ...

Re: Kyosho Triumph Project - Rocket Powered.....

How is the chute deployed? I saw a setup similar to yours run a number of years ago, Unfortunatly, there wasnt really enough room to do so, and the resulting crash was also quite spectacular. I dont think the guy realized how fast the thing was gonna be. It was .....a frickin rocket! 8)

Re: Project stealth graphite is done!!!!

I came upon this buggy yester sitting in someones basement, it had been mostly died black. I decided to turn this into my main racer and black is the theme. The six speed went and the fresh rebuild and dyed stealth is no in it. All white will be black. I don't know what the steering is but there is...

Re: Restored LXT

Here's something I just noticed on my truck. The front bulkhead is white, with the LOSI logo molded in. I've noticed that the trucks I'm seeing here have a black bulkhead with what appears to be a JRX2 molded in. Which one would be considered correct? 8)

Re: Anyone polish a gold tub?

Dig this........ Oven cleaner takes the anodizing off, but won't touch the paint! ZipStrip took care of that. 8)

Re: Anyone polish a gold tub?

I just started stripping the bad gold with that oven cleaner......Amazing! Looks like hell when you pull it out, but a little scrubbing with a toothbrush, & it's ready for sanding & polishing.I'll follow some of the tips I've read here for that part. I like that look. Those 2 polished tubs a...

Re: Restored LXT

There's one last option that's not listed and that is the mip 2.61 conversion for the 6 gear transmission. The conversion came with a larger center diff gear and a smaller gear for the top shaft. The inside of stock gearbox had to be modified (at the bottom and the side) to clear the larger gear. R...

Re: Restored LXT

I have the 6 gear tranny. It does'nt look at all like the retro fit unit. however, the center diff gear certainly looks like the one listed for the 2.61 set up. I think i'll just try to see if one works. Thank you all for your help.

Re: Restored LXT

Oh boy, Now I,m confused.I spoke with a guy named Bill, at Losi a couple year s ago about these parts, & he sent me 3 of those A-3006's, & their not the right ones. Their too thin & a smaller dia. [48teeth] He told me that part way through the production of that truck, they changed the g...

Re: Restored LXT

The differential gear [inside] is what I need. It has 52 teeth, & carries 12 diff balls. In the manual it's listed as key#55. Item# A3024, which I now see is a gear set bag. Thanks again.

Re: Restored LXT

I only need the diff gear, 52 tooth I believe, but would consider the bag I guess. Can never have too many X-tras. I'm told there were 2 trannys this truck used. Mine has the black case. Thanks 8)
