Re: 834B resto

Have you seen any pictures of a custom/third-part motor mounting plate ? I also agree that the stock unit looks a bit thin/weak..

Re: Bearings for the Yokomo 834B

Thanks for your answer, looks like rubber sealed bearings are the way to go - easier to clean..

Bearings for the Yokomo 834B

Anyone know a place(online) to get affordable bearings for this car ? I've tried ebay but can't seem to find any.

Re: New member

Maybe I can weld two different dogbones together, universal axles would be better tho :) I went to the local junkyard and got some 3mm aluminium today to make the piece that holds the rear shocks and body. Anyone know what kind of shocks would be good for this, there are alot to choose from , but th...

Re: New member

Ok since I already am going to make a new carbon chassi and it is going to be a runner I think I will replace the 'gearboxes' with some modern stuff. The rear part will be easy but the front will be a bit harder. Anyone done this before?

Re: New member

I just realized there is no front differential on this car, doesn't that make it hard to control ?

Re: New member

Got the 834B yesterday, spendt some time disassembling it today. Looks like it is in a rather sorry state but hopefully I will make a runner out of this someday :)

Here are some pictures.. Didnt realize the original chassi plate was made from Kydex..

Re: Weakest parts on the Yokomo 834

Thanks for all you feedback! Too bad that it is such a weak design , I actually thought this was a tough car :) Haven't received it yet but I think it will be here tomorrow, looking forward to having a closer look at it :)

Re: Weakest parts on the Yokomo 834

Thanks for your feedback, I thought gears and drivetrain were the weak spots. I saw someone in here(or TC) had a car with had custom alu rear arms. I really thought the plastic parts on the 834 were made from bulletproof Nylon or delrin, but maybe its just cheap plastic ;)

Weakest parts on the Yokomo 834

As I'm waiting for my 834 to arrive I started to think about the durability of this car. It looks pretty tough but there is always something that can break on a runner. So my question is this, what is the biggest issue/problem with these cars? What breaks ..
