Re: 870c drive shafts

I got in touch with JC Racing and they confirmed they're working on repro universals for the 870c.
Therefore I'm going to wait for these rather than adapting any current parts.
Hopefully by end of year... Fingers crossed!

Re: Cat XLS pivot balls U7150

Thank you all! I'm after ball studs. Ideally with inner thread and hex, but I think I'll have to settle for any alternative solution from Kyosho or other makes. After all the ones with external thread do the same job and look similar enough once installed.

Re: Cat XLS pivot balls U7150

Thank you! So they're not good for me.. I'll look further for some "vintage looking" 5.8 ball studs to fit my Yokomo 870c. The original ones are so rare!

Cat XLS pivot balls U7150

Hello! Does anyone know, or can anyone with a Cat XLS re-re take a measurement of these ball studs?
Are the balls 5.8mm diameter?
Thanks in advance! Cheers!

Hey Ronbo, could you please post a picture of the front or rear axle without wheel and hub?
I'd like to see how you sorted the small flat for the hub's grub screw..
Thank you!

About those universals... I have found these: https://www.yeahracing.com/g45-universal-steel-swing-shaft-for-tamiya-df03-tt02b-df03-015v2-00026617?search=universal&description=true They are for DF03 but should be very similar if not identical to the DB01 parts (70mm dogbones). My concern is abou...

Re: Front C hubs for 870c build- zc-413

Thanks Ronbo.
So, you're saying that adding caster angle to the 870c is good? I've never tested it.
If so, then I can get the Kyosho C hubs..
Please confirm... Cheers

Re: Front C hubs for 870c build- zc-413

Hello all!
I am resurrecting this thread as I am looking for some 870c C front hubs.
I know that Kyosho OT-47 and OT-55 are compatible, but these have 8 and 15 degrees Caster respectively, while the original 870c parts have zero.
So, is there a direct replacement available anywhere?
Please help!

Re: 870c drive shafts

One more thing.. I see that RB5 and RB6 universals UM522 are just 65.5mm, rather than 70mm as I read in the linked thread.. what am I missing?

Re: 870c drive shafts

Thanks everyone for the very useful information! Of course having direct fit parts available would be the best.. any idea of "how soon is soon"? About adapting existing shafts, I see that RB5/6 parts are best suited. I guess the thread will have to be cut off and a flat spot machined. Righ...

870c drive shafts

Hello everybody! Does anyone know if there is a source for 879c driveshafts or something adaptable?
What would be the part number, for fronts and rears?
Thanks in advance!
