Re: Evaluation: Is this Marui Samurai even worth restoring?
As mentioned by Silvertripple Shapeways has the gearbox for sale and I've bought one and can verify it's good probably better than the original , gears again as Silvertripple says the Hitec Aristocraft Dolphin or Kangaroo gears are a drop in fit , the front bulkhead/body mount can be found new on e...

Re: Evaluation: Is this Marui Samurai even worth restoring?
Well, 2 out of 3 diffs are basically destroyed. The rear diff has 2 trashed spider gears and the center diff is poorly epoxied together. also that transmission half with the epoxy is cracked in several places. I guess if I come across replacement diff gears at some point I'll rebuild this thing wit...

Re: Evaluation: Is this Marui Samurai even worth restoring?
That thing looks like a parts car, especially with a broken frame and gearbox..a tear down and cleanup will probably reveal more bad news. Cool motor though! The good news is it cost me nothing, hahah. Whats amusing is I just realized that one of these home made skid plates used to be the roof.... ...

Re: Evaluation: Is this Marui Samurai even worth restoring?
Well I at least cleaned the motor up a bit, comm definitely needed some love but it's not in too bad of shape little bit of corrosion on the can but not bad. I haven't tried to run it yet though. https://i.postimg.cc/d13qfz2Q/IMG-20221126-174249501.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/VNDfDYbH/IMG-20221126-1743...

Re: Evaluation: Is this Marui Samurai even worth restoring?
I think 4wd buggies are more than 2x the effort to keep up as a runner. When well maintained they're a hoot to run but there's potential for a lot of breakdown frustration. It would be a cool occasional runner though. What's that motor in there? I probably wouldn't run this much if I did put it bac...

Evaluation: Is this Marui Samurai even worth restoring?
So I've had this poor beaten Samurai sitting in my cellar for years, I don't remember where it came from but it appears to have been raced at some point. It's on foams, has some sway bars, the rear transmission case seems to have epoxy on it to strengthen it, and has a AYK Magnum 480r motor. But thi...

Re: The Ugly Truckling JRXT
The old losi stuff seems to hold up really well. I actually contemplating running my LXT during a Trophy race, because why not?

Re: JRX Pro SE "we don't do shelfers here" build
On the Jammin setup there is some bump steer at lockup..the outside more than the inside. I see your outer tie rods are spaced up high. The Jammin only uses 2 washers like mentioned in that Losi Tech Talk. https://i.postimg.cc/SNT1j3cD/20447-E3-A-A403-405-B-8-B71-1-E9-D65282856.jpg Yeah that's how ...

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
ended up changing the scheme of my stock class Mini JRX2 to match my JRX Pro. https://i.postimg.cc/Gp1bKwkj/IMG-20221119-201438165.jpg Decals are 1/14 scaled JRX Pro decals from MCI which fit quite well. I should have move the side decals forward more on both the bodies but I didn't feel like fighti...

Re: JRX Pro ebay find, runner rebuild
Got my MCI and TBG order in a few days ago and decided to paint up and decal the Pro finally. https://i.postimg.cc/3x0w9Fz3/IMG-20221119-171238221.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/VvHYWJRS/IMG-20221119-182306562.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/3Nw8GXg5/IMG-20221119-182317093.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/0Qn5rWK0/IMG-2...

Re: JRX Pro SE "we don't do shelfers here" build
Good job on cutting down those drive shafts! You might want to rethink your Jammin setup..that looks kinda crazy lol.. It was a specific setup & geometry for the tracks at the time. If you’re not properly centering the JRX2 spindle with 2 “B” spacers within the LXT carrier, then just use the or...

Re: LXT Front Shock Towers A-1015 variation
Found this out while tearing down a parts truck. It appears later on in the production cycle Losi modified the LXT camber link locations on the front shock tower. A1014 for the Pro SE had running changes as well. Here are the three camber link versions that I know of. I have compared it to the Jamm...
