Re: My first Gold Pan
Very cool paint! It's really refreshing to see something so simple but effective. It'll stand out in any crowd!

Neat looking car. It will be a lot of fun I'm sure. Ask questions if you need anything. Tons of smart guys on this site.

Re: Wild One Project
I don't think I'd try to dye it. The reason the RC10 "plastic" dyes so well is that it is basically nylon. There is no nylon in the Tamiya plastic that I know of. It's not porous enough to accept the dye well. Anyway, great looking start you have there! I really like to see the old cars br...

Re: How do you date a Midnight Pumpkin kit?
the re-releases were the metallic version, with the chrome body and rims. i don't remember them re-releasing an original version of the M.P. You may be right but I have what i thought was a re-re MP that sits right next to my original issue. They look identical as far as I can tell. Maybe the one I...

Paint on the outside?
What is the preferred method for repainting a body on the outside? If you use regular Lexan paint is there a way to get a glossy appearance or are you stuck with matte? Is there another type of paint that will flex and still provide decent shine?

Re: traxxas at pepboys
You would expect the big chain stores to be able to undercut the LHS guys. Good for the customer, but bad for the hobby as a whole. How many spare parts do you think Pep Boys will carry? If they drive the LHS's out of business then we'll have to get all our spares and supplies off the internet.

Re: Hotshots: Part I
Nice looking 'shot! The skidplate was indeed standard fare on the Supershot. I know what you mean about the color-- mine was red bitd as my father bought the paint (and kit) for my Christmas present. It didn't stay red long though... it's been orange, blue and now white. I'll have to look, but I ma...

Re: Hotshots: Part I
I just realized that I didn't post a picture explaining the "badly trimmed body". I hope this also explains why I chose to use the striping as I did:

Hotshots: Part I
I've been working on this car for a couple of weekend off and on. It's an original issue Hotshot I picked up a few months back. It's not finished yet but I couldn't wait to share. :D I must say this has to be the sexiest car Tamiya ever produced. It just looks like it means business! The car itself ...

Seriously though, what is the diameter of the tires? For the non-purist sometimes a tire is a tire.
