He was from Fresno. I raced religously @ ripon for years, won the First Reedy Race of Champions there too (open Mod TC). Those were the days

Re: What Ultima is this?
Looks like a Trinity chassis to me, and the internals look like thorpe. I would definatelly change out the internal gears though. At least the layshaft gear, as it looks REALLY worn and won't last long. The diff gear looks to be in runable shape, but would be destroyed quickly by the worn layshaft g...

Re: What Ultima is this?
I think you are right. Upon further review, you can see the reinforcing on the front bulkhead that the early ultima bulkheads did not. However, it could be a later replacement as the ultima bulkheads are prone to breaking

Re: RRC May 1993 - REEDY race of champions - Race report
Ha! that was my home track! Boy, sure ran a lot of races there. By far the best (and busiest) track I ever visited. Single day entry record - 29 heats for a saturday! (yes that is 290 entries) 7am to 2am the next day  . As for Brent, he passed away a few years back. Motor cycle accident from ...

Re: What Ultima is this?
The rear suspension mounts and bulkhead don't have the extra mounting holes for later ultima suspension systems, so I bet it is an original Ultima W/ a bunch of aftermarket parts. A pic of the front of the car w/o the body will give you an idea of which bulkhead (revision) it has. -Jeff

Was someone looking for these rims?
I seem to remember someone was looking for the white 5 spokes. I will list them on e-bay soon. PM me if interested, or any of the other rims for that matter. -Jeff

Re: Joel Johnson Ultima WC 89'...
There is really nothing the matter with the Ultima trannies, especially when they had the 48dp gear sets. Allot of people think they are less efficient than others beacause they had 4 gears, but they still only had three total gear interfaces just like a stealth or MIP from that time period. Just th...

Re: Bringing Ni-MH cells back to life
NiMh cells are very finicky. Every type of cell, from every manufacturer, from every individual batch can require specific care and storage processes. Like Charlie said, if they weren't kept cycled and at a relative state of charge while being stored, than they are propably junk. One of the biggest ...
