True, true, the old knobby tires were not all that realistic, but they just looked sweet on those old school buggies. Better looking than the crop of tires that followed in my opinion.

I agree Lonestar. It just looks like a scale buggy. That's why I plan on doing another hopper body on a more capable chassis. Realistic scale body on top, high performance underneath. What ever happened to RC buggies? Back in the day they all looked like realistic buggies you would see on the dunes ...

Nice! Saw this on TC. I like the pink wheels for some odd, strange reason.

It was a great deal. I found these tires on the Bay for cheap. The one's I've seen like these before were by Proline, but these have no markings on them at all. I took the $40 Grasshopper down to a local ballpark to test them out.

@vintage racer: Wow, your hopper is beat! Looks like you have your fun with it. I take mine out once in a blue but I do baby it a little since it is vintage and pretty clean.

@bngiles: Thanks, I used a Pentel white permanent paint pen. They also come in gold and silver and can be found at Office Depot, Staples, and others. There are other companies that make these pens but you have to make sure you get a fine tipped one.
