Re: TA02 Datsun 240z rally car
Thanks. The TA02 is classic, I also want an FF01 too. I'm sure Tamiya will get around to Re-releasing some soon, I hope. The gearboxes are from the Hummer kit. They are readily available on the Bay. I kinda put this build on the backburner to work on other builds, but should have it finished and run...

Re: TA02 Datsun 240z rally car
Seen that, think I will get that one next. I have an old Kyosho Spider that's 200mm that would look right with that body.FasterLouder wrote:Here's what an ABC Hobby 240Z can look like![]()

Re: TA02 Datsun 240z rally car
Thanks fellas. I'm going to use a combination of these, http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff342/Simpson75/DSC02764.jpg to make lights in the grill like this: http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff342/Simpson75/DSC02801.jpg Still need to add the rest of the decals and maybe a driver figure. I started...

Re: TA02 Datsun 240z rally car
Before this turns into a HPI thread... My goal was to make a privateer, club rally racer. I found quite a few old school Datsun rally cars online. http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff342/Simpson75/240zrally.jpg http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff342/Simpson75/240zrally2.jpg After some black paint...

ABC Hobby is a Japanese RC company.bearrickster wrote:What is ABC hobby?mrlexan wrote:Coming soon from HPI (probably were the folks contracted to do the car for ABC Hobby anyway).
I just checked on that HPI and it's a kit called "cup racer" It's about the size of a Tamiya mini chassis.

Re: TA02 Datsun 240z rally car
That HPI body is nice! From the side view it looks more scale than the ABC Hobby. Will have to get one for an on road version.
You can find the ABC Hobby body on Ebay, think I found mine at RCmart.

TA02 Datsun 240z rally car
I started this project with a pile of old TA02 parts originally from a Promarkt Mercedes Benz C class. I then collected some new bearings, Hummer parts, which are exactly the same except they come in black, and replaced a few worn parts, so I now have basically a new car. I had a couple hop up parts...

Sweet site. Got a lot of new ideas for scale trucks. They're killing me with all those copyrights through the pics though.

Re: re re blackfoot???
I'd get at least 1. Could use the body on a scale truck. Tamiya is bringing back a model with every release it seems. I see the Boomerang is coming back.
