Re: Old 6-gear upgrade for brushless
You could always make some steel idler gears by cutting the out drive part off a set of outdrive gears.. Then all that you will need to worry about is the diff.. What turn brushless motor do you plan to run? I would have thought that a stock, good condition 6 gear could easily cope with > 13.5 BL mo...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Looking for a lil' help from brushed motor experts... A guy who used to race dirt oval in the 90s/early 2000s gave these to me a while back and I've never been able to figure out what they are. Both look like they have never seen a track, and while I didn't take them apart and try to count the copp...

It sounds to me like a bit of a tall tale.. (otherwise known as BS) It does make you wonder if they had Billy the blind apprentice working on it, or if the original tech that was doing the repairs left the company part way through the repair, and none of the others knew how to fix what he had done.....

If you think that its hot glue, I'd try putting it in some boiling water..
Even if they used some other glue like Araldite, the boiling water may still break down the bond..

keeping going on this. ----- there was a time when MOSFET driven servos was considered cheating as the reaction time on those were way faster then a human could even react to. ----- Making your own tires was kind of a grey area sometimes. many good fabriactors in the pits would split tires into 2 o...

Re: Info on Reedy vintage motor
Most, if not all early non rebuildable stock motors had stand up brushes.. It wasn't until the mid to late 90's that laydown brushed appeared in stock motors.. (Was the Trinity Midnight the first to use laydown brushes?) Information that I found on the web suggests it has 36* - 45* of timing.. What ...

The Trinity Experimentals and Monster Horsepower all look to be modifieds, so the could be any wind.. If there are no markings on the can, try pulling the armature to see if there is anything written on it.. Take note of how many pieces of wire join at each comm segment to tell you if its a single, ...

If you just want to get something to cover the electrical socket, why not look at using a rubber foot of a char or table leg?? Your local hardware store should have these rubber feet available in quite a few different sizes..
Just a thought..

I have dyed the red suspension parts, diffs and gearbox pieces black before, and they came out quite good.. I guess that the cage is made from the same plastic/nylon as the other pieces..?? The black dye doesn't go right into the red plastic all that far, so any deep scratches will show as being red...

Re: What Vintage battery connectors are still available toda
I've sent an email to Anderson Australia asking them about their Power Pole connectors.. They list them as being $1.66 AUD for a single red and black connector.. The other option is getting some clones from China on eBay.. I think that I will just get some cheap Tamiya connectors off eBay, and that ...

Re: What Vintage battery connectors are still available toda
Thanks for the quick replies.. The durability of the connectors is not any great concern, as I only want these connectors to complete the radio gear install in some of my shelfers/display cars. but I would like them to be period correct.. It is good to learn that I can still get the old 4 pin Deans ...

I have just replaced the wiring on some of my old ESC's, so I'm now looking for some vintage battery connectors to finish them off.. These ESC's will be going into my 6 gear Graphite, Caddy Gold Tub, and RPM Team Car Conversion.. So what Vintage connectors are still available?? I know that you can s...
