Re: Check out my new "ride"

Very nice- we're in the same market and now you have me thinking. We were considering a Traverse but the Equinox would work just as well interior size wise. Our issue is we have a small pop-up camper trailer that we currently tow with our 2004 Venture. Since they no longer offer the 3.4L the Equinox...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

It looks like your friend may have had a Traxxas Cat with a different (toy store brand?) body on it. That's my first impression.

Edit: found it: http://tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=88773&id=25101
Must be a later version body. :?:

Re: my 2 daughters getting their first rc cars!

There is a training mode? I never knew that. Wow where have I been. Is that on older novaks or on newer esc's if it is on newer ones that would explaine why I don't know Traxxas has a 50% 'training' mode on their ESCs now. They've had it for a few years anyway. It's as simple as pushing a button on...

Re: my 2 daughters getting their first rc cars!

Mine both started with Grasshoper/Hornet hybrids with Lunchbox wheels & tires. Shortly after they each got 2wd Slashes. You can't beat the Slash or the Stampede for durability. My neice was three when she first drove one and I don't think she gave up the transmitter for over 10 minutes straight....

Re: This bugs me...calling toy cars "rides"

And you've never seen someone say "nice ride" in response to a post about an RC car, or post "here's my latest ride"? I see it all over the place , including here! I posted a picture of CYANide yesterday on RCTech and someone just replied to it today saying "nice ride"...

My mother used to get so irate when my sister & I would say 'dinky'. When this cereal came out, my mother almost died:

As far as RC cars, I haven't heard people calling them 'rides'. It does sound a bit ridiculous.

That's a great cause Jason. My daughter will be doing the same thing next week. This will be her third time donating and she's only 12... the first one was when she was eight. It was all her idea too!
BTW I hardly noticed your package in the '08 picture.

Re: Tamiyaclub.com Hacked

If they are hacking for sport, the difference is that their actions adversely affect someone else (often lots of people) whereas typically our hobby does not. I am assuming you don't take your pile of rc parts to work and leave them on someone's worbench, or lay an electric motor on top of your offi...

The plugs were enormous... that's what I learned on! I still have one tucked away with some old wide band transmitters. http://i840.photo...
