Re: Lipo battery info request
If that's the kind of company you choose to support, then rock on. I actually support my local hobby shop-- not quite sure how buying 2 batteries makes me (or anyone) a bona fide supporter of any one company. :?: I was pointing out a battery (not business practice) that worked for me. I have had lo...

Re: Lipo battery info request
Eau- This extends to your odd trend post as well: Most of us are blissfully ignorant. We buy a neat looking "Old time buggie" off eBay or craigslist for $20 simply because it's shiny and a cool toy. I also didn't realize your uncle was involved in the industry and pissed you off. ;) I just...

I'm running Trinity Li-Pro 4500s. Trinity had some issues with faulty internal cutoffs when they first started with these, but they seem to have fixed the problem. I have 2 that I run in vintage and mod stadium truck at the local class. Decent packs.

Yeah, you should be good. bngiles was getting 10 minutes for mod motors-- and the Nats are limited to 27 turn. I get over 10 minutes out of my 3500 NiMhs with a stock motor - in all my vintage buggys. You'll be fine!tecnica2001 wrote:That's cool, but I'll be using 3300 nimh batteries.

Re: Noticing an odd trend... again.
One reason for the big surge in members may be the Vintage Nationals. Also, if I can get a deal cheap enough I would buy it without knowing what it was if it "looked cool"-- chain drive, lots of metal bits, early buggy designs. I've placed low bids on a couple AYKs, Schueys and Kyoshos and...

Re: *** The official VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS thread ***
You should be able to do 5 minutes no problem with 27 turn motors and 3300 batteries. We run 4 minutes in vintage at the local track and I've used 2300 nicds and had plenty left. Any parts you have should be with you! ;) Rule of thumb is whatever part you do NOT have will be the one to break. In my ...

I guess if a Apple/PC analogy is in order, my Zune would be more like a Seeburg....a01butal wrote:What's a zune? Is that anything like my Wurlitzer 1015 Jukebox?
My kids got it for me for Christmas.... now I just have to buy one of those USB turntables to get my vinyl on it!

There are a few that have me wondering for certain..... Alot of folks think I'm a polite guy, but after meeting me they know otherwise! I'm actually in the engineering field, most often civil projects but occasionally structural and aviation. CivStructAviGuy just didn't work for me. 8)

Re: Nitro car recommendation
You mentioned chain/belt drive. Most 1/8 buggies or truggies are shaft or dogbone driven-- no worries there! The only issue I have ever had with 4wd is maintenance-- especially with 3 diffs rebuilds become that much more time consuming. I can take down my entire 2wd stadium truck in an evening-- les...

Re: When did the Losi XX came out??
One of the coments Erich made-- and I completely understand and this is paraphrased-- was that a date was picked (1994) and that's what is being stuck to for this year. The organizers want as many people as possible to show up. I'm making arrangements to go and I'm bringing a bunch of mid-80s gear. ...
