Perhaps you could get some brass tubing and glue it in the wishbone (much like a sleeve).

That picture with all the old rc cars in the shed was actually the result of trade-ins for Mantua model cars. Seems you bring in your old rc cars and they will hook you up with a current model. I was informed of this practice by the Australian Mantua distributor.

If my memory serves me well.....I think this is the M2 with Type J shocks (the M2 had the smaller red shocks) The Type J also has a different top plate that central 'shock' system was located nearer to the rear of the car. I believe the gull wing shock tower were on some of the early versions of the SWB CAT and also the XL. Besides the upper arm brace is slightly narrower than the shock tower (well it is on my Corally XL anyway).
