Re: pin strips

trx450racer174 your jobs came out nice! Airbrush? The reason I ask about the tape is because I'm gonna try and paint a body the same as the boxart from the 80s RC10 buggie and they have 3 stripes that turn up at the back. Yes i use a Iwata HP-CS with Createx and Faskolor. Nice paint jobs ! I have a...

Re: pin strips

trx450racer174 are you using that tape as a masking tape or are actually pin striping with it? I am using it as a mask with either blue 3m tape or liquid mask and then coming back in after the paint is done and doing the stripes.. I dont have enough skill to cut clean straight lines in liquid mask ...

Re: pin strips

I use 1/16th and 1/8th in fineline tape and my experience with the 1/8th tape is it does not like tight radius turns without some stretching and of course that will distort the width of the tape. I have been using the 1/16th for tight curves. The pic below shows 1/8th and 1/16th lines. The 8th in th...

Re: 2 more XXXT SC trucks.

Rear template and standoffs are done. Electronics will be mounted on the top plate in front of the shock tower. All thats left now is to make battery posts and hold downs. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk10/TRX450RACER174/RC%20CAR%20TRACK/BACKYARDTRACKPICS299.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/alb...

Re: 2 more XXXT SC trucks.

Here are a few pics of the progress so far. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk10/TRX450RACER174/RC%20CAR%20TRACK/BACKYARDTRACKPICS287.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk10/TRX450RACER174/RC%20CAR%20TRACK/B...

Re: Dying flourescent yellow wheels black??

I have dyed lots of yellow wheels and they all take to black no matter of brand. Yellow wheels actually look better dyed black than white wheels cause white usually turns purple in the sun. I use a 1/2 teaspoon of salt and make sure my parts sit in the color for a few min at a boil and then i let th...

Re: Cutting parts for my R/C cars.

I might have to get one of those small hand saws.
I have been using a jigsaw with 1/8 in blades to cut my G10 and
it wears the blades out quick. If i use the wider blades its does better.
I like the idea of the drum sander the dremel works good but the drum
sander would be very handy to have.

Re: 2 more XXXT SC trucks.

Here are some updated pics of the chassis. Topdeck is being cut and fit along with the front and rear standoffs for the top deck and rear trans brace. Chassis still has to be counter sunk for the hardware. This truck will run a custom painted Blitz body but here is a pic of what fitment is like. htt...

Re: 2 more XXXT SC trucks.

Well i managed to get the front end narrowed and the XXXT-NT front bulkhead swapped over today as well as i narrowed the rear end with a few different parts than i used on my other Losi. For the rear of this truck i used all GenII trans parts and i will explain what i did. Since the GenII is wider i...

Re: 2 more XXXT SC trucks.

Hey Mike the rear bumper of the truck is all SC10 like yours and it bolts directly to the Losi trans and T-Plate. What i did since i built the rear a little different from yours was take a piece of G10 and make a plate to bolt on top of the trans and motor guard. I drilled some holes in some plastic...

Re: Mid motor car question

This thread is very informative as i am building a mid motor truck.
After doing some research i stumbled across this pic on oople and it is a very good idea at adding a 4th gear to a 3 gear trans.
