Re: best way to remove solder from motor cans?
Pick yourself up a solder wick, works wonders. Also make sure your iron is up to the task, a 25w pencil tip iron won't cut it. Use an 80w flat tip, basically the same as what you'd use to solder batteries and 12g connectors would be fine. I'll see what happens with my stronger iron. I'm wondering i...

best way to remove solder from motor cans?
Usually I just leave stock motors alone and any solder on the cans gets to stays there and add character. But I recently acquired a Kyosho Le Mans 240S where the previous owner soldered several caps directly to the can, in multiple places. The caps were in rough shape and I removed them. Now I'd lik...

Re: do stock and modified endbells have same diameter?
Just chance. I have an early Speedworks mod can with a P2K endbell and arm, works fine. I also have a Yokomo mod can with a MVP endbell and arm, also works fine. I have motors with mixed and matched cans and endbells that also work. Different brands. On your stock endbell, does it happen to be one ...

do stock and modified endbells have same diameter?
I was tinkering with some extra parts and happened to try fitting a stock endbell on a modified motor can and was surprised to find it doesn't fit... The endbell had just slightly too large diameter to fit. I tried another modified can I had lying around and found the same thing. I'd never considere...

Yeah, you're right... I swapped the end bells, looked at it some more and on its own the motor looks nice. I was being too picky...!

two Le Mans 480 Gold motors - build-up choice...?
I've been thinking about a motor build choice and curious what others here might do. I have two 480 Gold motors I'm building up... #1 has a very nice can and aluminum front plate, but the label was destroyed (by a wraparound heat sink) so I replaced it with one from Ultrahive. #2 has a beat up and t...

Re: my Trinity motor collection
Awesome collection. You can get 1/4" black tape to replace what's there if you ever open them up. I just take a couple pictures of it first before removing the tape. Thanks! I've always really liked the look of the Monster Horsepower motors but never had any until I started collecting these in...

Re: my Trinity motor collection
#4 - Trinty-Kysoho steel can with standup brushes. I haven't opened it to not disturb the tape, but it spins very fast. I'd like to know more about this one. Looks to be pretty much new condition, never soldered up... IMG_5763.JPG IMG_5764.JPG #5 - suspect this is a #2004 18x2 Pure Gold, but could b...

my Trinity motor collection
I've collected a few interesting Trinity motors and thought I would share my collection, and maybe ask couple questions along the way... most of the motors came from people that didn't know much or anything about them, and it's hard to tell them apart conclusively after the packaging or identifying ...

Re: Javelin alloy wheels?
Pargu has some cool rim designs indeed. I bought a set of these for my RWD Optima Mid car, but ended up going with something different for the finished car. I still have them and love the design, it's not something you see everyday. https://www.rc10talk.com/download/file.php?id=74866&mode=view ...

Re: Javelin alloy wheels?
Those are some sweet rimz! 8) I dig them too! Pargu gets the credit! I reached out via eBay and he confirmed he made them. I knew it. It's funny how between the designs, and machining process used, you can tell who made certain wheels by those identifying characteristics. Nice work, I’m impressed! ...

Tamiya Hornet, with all vintage with vintage upgrades, collected from a variety of sources over the years: blue-anodized oil shocks (front and rear), blue-anodized nerf bars, and blue-anodized rear sway bar, kydex front and rear bumpers (I haven't seen the rear anywhere else). Wheels are silver chro...
