Looks awesome!
My red can Revtech is a Maniac - 10 turn double. I think the number of turns should be etched in the plastic of the endbell.
Regards,
Robert

Re: Novak T-4
Novak never spec'd motor turn limits back in the 80s; only stating the T4 can handle the "hottest modified motors." I have numerous T4's and have periodically run one of them with 8 cells and a 10 turn double; sounds crazy, but no issues with that hot of a motor. In my opinion, it should b...

I haven't been able to find the manuals link on the home page for a long time. Here's Google advanced search results; the manual links are there. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_q=&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&num=10&lr=&as_filetype=&ft=i&as_sitesearch=http%3A%2F%2...

Re: dye
IMHO, for black, RIT liquid dye is definitely the way to go. One other tip: the parts should be CLEAN; obviously no dirt, but no oil or grease, either. This goes for NIP, as well. Many new parts will have a mold release film that needs to be scrubbed off. Simple Green works great at getting even the...

Re: Adventure at the LHS
On the flip side, I just bought a bunch of vintage stuff from my LHS and they gave me a great deal of at least 50% off of the 20 year old sticker price. The owner even said as I paid, "Hey, you should put this stuff on ebay and make a profit." I think he was just happy to get rid of old st...

Re: Optima Mid
Welcome to RC10Talk! You can't go wrong with any of the Optimas. They make great vintage runners! 1. I believe HPI Superstar wheels (like these: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCEA1) will fit without any modification. They take modern 2.2" tires. 2. Yes, you need metric 3...

Yeah, once they're downloaded, you can do whatever you want with them. There's no DRM or anything like that.

Just an FYI: For a $20 yearly membership, you can download all of RCCA's issues in pdf format from 1986 to 2004. Join here: http://www.rccaraction.com/ME2/dirmod.asp?sid=&type=gen&mod=Core+Pages&gid=B577B97C8F6B48AAB06AAB4BEACF294E Unfortunately, the advertisements are not included, but ...

Re: REPRO LAZER BODIES
That sucks. :( Just like polycarbonate, there are different grades of PETG. The cheaper ones may be junk, but I'm very happy with the grade I use. That said, I still wouldn't use PETG for anything other than a runner body that I'd expect to be punished. It it what it is: a much cheaper alternative t...

Re: REPRO LAZER BODIES
I've had very good luck with PETG. It has its shortcomings: softer/scratches easier, more flexible, not quite as good optically. But, it's cheap (1/4 the cost of polycarbonate), vacuum forms much easier, absorbs less moisture and accepts paint just as well as polycarbonate. I haven't had any problem...

I'd love to try, but I just don't have the time right now. I have two of my own bodies waiting to be repro'd.
