Re: Maxxum steering rod
The steering rod on the Maxxum is a balancing act because it can't be too thick. Traxxas has some really long 3mm turnbuckles, but it may be a tight fit because (1) the tur buckle has to be below the battery and (2) the turnbuckle can't be too low...or it will be below the chassis. Also, the bell cr...

Re: Thunder Tiger hopups for various makes.
Exactly...those parts were manufactured by you-g and sold to everyone so they can re-brand them. I remember Trinity selling the blue hornet shocks...which was more expensive than the panda/mugen/you-g versions.

I love the Astute! Over-engineered or not they have a ton of character and look like nothing else. . I had a third but sold it. Yea you sold one to me  it looked like the red one it had a nice red body. Hah hah! You got the red body but the car under the yellow one. I have a new body for the r...

Looks great. I didn't realize that you can run stealth out drives on an A&L trans.

Re: Hot Trick Red Prince onroad project
There was a GT110 body on ebay last year I was so tempted to pull the trigger. That was the body I had on my first car (hornet) and I've been thinking about getting another one. Since I still had my original body, I decided to not to bid.

Re: It started with a pair of universals....and became a T2
I'm the exact same way. My RC10 collection was based on buying a new Jammin diff kit for the 6 gear trans for $1. Did not have any intentions on building an RC10. Then pieces coming together...and with enough $$$$, a very nice RC10 was built. Trying to avoid building a Tmaxx with the $1 alum arms an...

Re: COUNTING CARS:)
eekkkk I think I have close to 200. Somehow, the numbers just sneak up on you. Working on one car (restoration), I find myself with 2-3 in the end. Of course, I have weakness for optimas and jrx2s...so I pick those up when the price is right.

Re: need a little Optima Mid help
Not at all. The internal diff and belt are from the mid. So the only thing that's not from the mid is the front gearbox (case). That one looks like a stock mid with platinum shocks (vs. gold shocks). Very little needed to get that running. You've got a good car there.

Re: need a little Optima Mid help
That's the one from the Lazer ZX series. If you're going to use that gearbox, you also need the lower rear section that's used to hold the front arms on.

Re: Melted JRXT Ball diff
Losi came out with a solution for this...it was called the XX trans
I personally have never cooked a LRM diff....but I've always used a slipper and kept the diff properly tightened.

Re: Melted JRXT Ball diff
I remember when the jr first came out with the original thrust bearing...lots of melted diffs. Everyone was using their diffs to try to control their traction problems.

Re: Interesting Optima pic
It went for $195 + $60 shipping. What made me bid was the fact that it had a ton of optima diff pulleys and several 48 pitch conversion sets. It came with a glass 10L, monster beetle and a messed up (modified) jrx pro.

Re: Interesting Optima pic
Unfortunately, I was the first place looooser....and got outbid in the last 2 seconds. I thought it was really interesting to see how it was done, but I was more interested in the other parts to finish up my other project cars.
