Re: A-Stamp cleanup/rebuild
Ok I picked up a wing and some truck wing things. What wire should I use? Coat hanger? Seems maybe too thick. Do I need the official part? I'm hoping for some old school trick.

Re: A-Stamp cleanup/rebuild
are you planning to run a buggy body? No buggy body for this one. Once I figure out this mount I'll paint it and post up some pictures. I need to find an interesting rear wing too, so open to suggestions there. I'm leaving things stock too so I can paint up a buggy body at some point as well. The p...

Re: A-Stamp cleanup/rebuild
Well the order from the UK got here, as did the Associated Chassis protector. I built a quick and dirty rear body mount. There were two less than centered holes in the rear bulkhead already, so I went with them instead of drilling new ones. I got two sets of wheels, so the question is what to do wit...

Re: RC10T Ebay Runner Project
Well I finally got it into a running state. Picked up a shorty lipo. This is my first body painted in over 20 years. First time using liquid mask, and first time using an airbrush. I think it turned out pretty good. Its an homage to the box art using colors I like. I still need to find some white st...

Here in my eBay runner RC10T project. Its a got modern running gear, a little carbon fiber, a body painted as an homage to the box art truck but in my favorite colors. And built for my kids an I to enjoy terrorizing out local parking lots and ball fields. Build thread https://www.rc10talk.com/viewto...

Re: A-Stamp cleanup/rebuild
I think the cerakote itself would work pretty good, I just didn't get it applied quite as well as I would have liked. I need a lot more practice with my airbrush.NomadRacer wrote: ↑Sat Sep 01, 2018 5:50 am I really dig your Cerakote tub. The "gray" gives it a unique look.

Re: RC10 Factory Works C2 "Tuber" Build
Did you use any heat when bending? I wonder if some heat or annealing would help? Another trick for bending is filling the tube with sand, but that helps prevent collapse of the tube.

Re: A-Stamp cleanup/rebuild
Oh, and electric stuff... Need to pick a motor and figure out if the ESC is good. Can I run it with a missing heatsink? This one gets a NiMh battery and a RTR Associated 2.4 radio.
The Slot Machine might go in my Team Car since I used to run it that way in the 90s.

Re: A-Stamp cleanup/rebuild
Well I ended up using the parts I have and didn't file the tub... Its clean enough, maybe someday it goes on the shelf? Who knows.... So I went Cerakote, and lets just say I need more practice with my airbrush... LOL It went on a bit dry. But its on, and I still plan to slap a chassis protector on t...

Well that sounds like the case, and I bet it's hard to find an early bulkhead... long wheelbase it is I guess

Re: A-Stamp cleanup/rebuild
Pictures being worth a thousand words and all... So my issue in the front, I swapped the shock towers over to the older style. It doesn't have the same inner hole as the newer style shock tower, so the old turnbuckles don't match up. The ones that came with the car are "setup" cu...

Re: A-Stamp cleanup/rebuild
You could re-position the shock mounts and whittle away the stops that are molded into the arms to provide more droop. You'll want be cautious though because droop in the rear may then be limited by the dog bones. Too much down travel and they could bind and possibly break an axle, a bone or an out...

Re: A-Stamp cleanup/rebuild
The bottom is in pretty good shape. I was sad to see the poorly aligned holes, but going with the Six gear will be fun. It came pretty much clean and rebuilt with bearings. So a quick clean and some fresh grease and I'm going to run it. Could be a touch smoother, but it will work. Separate question ...

Re: A-Stamp cleanup/rebuild
Wow, thanks again for all the help... This is turning into a build more than a clean and run... But I can't help it. Two sets of wheels ordered. Still not sure on what tires to run. Here is the cleaned up tub. See if you can spot the tell tale signs of grey epoxy... AKA JB Weld.. Not to me...

Re: A-Stamp cleanup/rebuild
JC Racing (from the UK) might be an option for you. They are availabe in White, Black, and Yellow. Shown with Pro-Line Dirt Hawg tires. C2CFfinalbrace2.jpg Those are awesome, sadly, my axles have been updated at some point. Both are 3/16"... So Im not sure those will work. What tires are those?
