Re: Shock Type and Length Confusion

Hi blubblood From my limited experience... Eyelet to eyelet measurements can be roughly estimated. A .56 body with a .56 shaft should yield about 62mm eye to eye. A 1.18 body with a 1.02 shaft should yield about 90mm eye to eye. A 1.02 body with a 1.02 shaft should yield about 86mm eye to eye Overal...

6 gear bearing cover

This has probably been done before but I thought it might be interesting.
Home Depot screw cover, some poster putty and a smudge of yellow paint.
I never did like the "servo tape cover" and I don't have a lathe to machine a cover.
I think it looks kind of OEM.

Gear bowl :D
I probably would have my cereal out of it in the AM.
But a very nice display stand for an awesome build!

Re: Vintage team checkpoint brushes

Howdy! There is a member here, slotcarrod, that would probably know if there is or were brushes that have wires attached. Hopefully some else can chime in with knowledge as well. Been dusting off my old cars recently and takin' life easy. Hope all is well with you guys and Have a great New Year! Chuck

Hey there
Do you know the wheel's diameter?
Will make a difference on tire choice.

Re: 6-gear question

Good eye Doug I didn't see that! I measured .201" vs .188" on the gear face. The extra depth in the axel pin cut is .05" or 1.27mm Shoot, now I'm going to have to try these deeper cut outdrives with the B44 axel-B4 hub carrier combo. And the 6 gear I rebuilt for the Houge was soooo sm...

Re: 6-gear question

I guess why I'm confused is that 3 or 4 months ago I bought 2 new outdrives for my Houge RC10 and they are shallow cut. They came in new style packaging and did not require a lot of filing and deburring like I have been used to. These, with the deeper slots, came in the trans of an RC10 I got at Chr...

6-gear question

I was rebuilding a couple 6 gear transmissions when I noticed a difference in my 6612 Axle Drive Gears.
Maybe common knowledge, but axle clearances with the outdrive has always been a problem for me.
Droop vs engagement etc.
So is this depth difference new vs old manufacturing?

Re: Project RC10 Championship Edition!

I received a set of those tires on an ebay find once; never seen them before. I haven't had a chance to try them out but, seeing your post has me curious now, think I'll fit them to a runner next time and see what they'll do. Thanks Joey. You're welcome Doug. I would love to find matching rear tire...

Re: ??? Hydrographics ???

Ooooh Doug

First, thank you so much! Very kind... but
You must have read my mind.
I was just today looking at a Utube video from Hemistorm
The video was his version of that same paint. If I thought I could I would try.
That paint is crazy cool!
