Re: Modern rims/tires for vintage RC10 or how I gave up on old tires

Doug
I did dye the wheels for the Houge before I painted them.
Totally forgot about that until just now
They took dye as well as any other nylon I have done.

Re: RC10 Cadillac A-Stamp Restore Attempt

Hi Bakauata

I have used a solution that others may not use.
End play is minimal and the shaft has a little more support.

Re: How to tighten wheels on Losi XXX CR

Hi nike124
If those nuts are like Associated nuts they would probably be 11/32". That would be common for a 10-32 threaded nut.
If you have 1/4" drive sockets they will have a much thinner wall thickness than if you have 3/8" drive sockets.
Hope that helps.

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - May 2019 ** - Winner - generalZod

This is the first RC car I bought in 1986-1987. I had scavenged parts from this car to build my Houge back in the day. I recently brought it back to life. New build 6 gear transmission, B6.1d shocks, B4 front caster blocks and B4 rear hub carriers, Yokomo CVA axels, new Avid bearings, Lunsford hinge...

Re: Green parts: not just for ball cups anymore

I set the right ball cup out in the Texas sun for 2 days, the left one stayed indoors.
We may have hope for at least the ball cups. They are on white printing paper.

Re: RC10 Cadillac A-Stamp Restore Attempt

This is what I use
Slip u-shaped part of wrench between bearing holder and diff tube.
Remove nylon bushing opposite the gear
Place gear end down.
Take blunt end of drill bit and tap the tube out

Re: WOIN RC10 "new" build...

Always looking forward to your builds Nomad. You are a master RC craftsman to be sure. Ummm, also, not to be pushy but are you planning to wrap up some of your other builds anytime soon? I recall that a couple of them still need painted bodies. Not being pushy -- just asking... :D Me too Inquiring ...

Nomad
I don't really know why but after checking a pic of the motor the first thing that struck me was "BumbleBee"ish.
Nice choice.

Re: I thought it was a Hornet

Thanks for all the help guys I cleaned the the Lazer up a bit, really wasn't all that bad. Cleaned and re-oiled the rear shocks. Cleaned and re-greased the suspensions moving points. I have ordered a resistor pack so I'll soon see if the MSC works. Still on the search for front tires, found 1 set bu...

Thought I might have found a small niche to explore. :(

Re: I thought it was a Hornet

Doug
It wasn't an Ebay auction. It was listed as Kyosho. I guess there was an element of truth because the radio and peripherals were Kyosho.
I'll clean it up, maybe paint the body, try and get it running then who knows? The fun for me is breathing life back into a neglected car.

Re: I thought it was a Hornet

Thanks Jeff! I think you nailed it. I looked and looked and could not find a similar car. The front wheels are identical to the ones on the box although the front tires ( 2" ??? ) are hard as a rock. The rears were apparently replaced with Bolink foams. The resistor pack ( 3 wire type ) has bee...
