Re: Early JRXT ?
He offered it to me for $800 local pickup, but I'm not in SoCal. It's definitely a nice truck, but I'm not excited about dropping that much cash on something right now.

Re: Composite Craft RPM '91 Worlds build thread
Paint job is awesome !! Perfect ! Thanks. It's definitely a period correct paint job, and the scheme is really eye-catching. I decided to solder up the electronics last night. I swapped the smaller 13 ga positive wire for a 12 ga since I would have hard wired the battery lead to the single run inst...

Re: Composite Craft RPM '91 Worlds build thread
The esc and rx are mounted on the chassis, and I have the wires where I want them. I decided to go ahead and work on mounting the body. It's a scoop-less RCPS Turbo Mirage painted by Perry @ SRS Raceway in Scottsdale, AZ back in '93/94. The sharpie around the windows is original and I will not be fi...

Re: Composite Craft RPM '91 Worlds build thread
It turns out that the Orion battery is actually a RC-1700 (late '97) pack and not SCRC. Fortunately I had a spare pack of Trinity EXR178 Ex-Tech cells. CC-RPM-Worlds24 (Large).jpg CC-RPM-Worlds26 (Large).jpg I was able to get the Futaba 9101 servo mounted up. For the small Kimbrough saver I had to u...

Re: 1993 IFMAR Worlds - Kinwald's RC10 Team Car
I always thought that the Worlds bellcranks looked more like Hogue bellcranks, just cheaper. Houge was first, and I believe CC copied Houge to an extent. The ball stud area at the end of the CC/AE cranks are smooth whereas Houge is stepped. AE is flat at the end but also got rid of the step before ...

1993 IFMAR Worlds - Kinwald's RC10 Team Car
I had always assumed AE just copied Composite Craft's bellcrank design and modified the post to be on top instead of the bottom for the 6037 Worlds Car. However I never knew it was primarily due to Kinwald using the CC bellcranks at the 1993 IFMAR Worlds. I'm still not sure why the front Wide-Fives ...

Re: Composite Craft RPM '91 Worlds build thread
Thank you. It's been a real treat to source the parts and build it up. I was torn on what wheels to use, but I knew in 1994 the majority of competitive racers were using 2.2 rears. As much as I wanted to use my HPI Super Stars the rear are 2.0 :( I decided to use TQ 2.175 rears with Pro-84 Y design,...

Re: Brushed motor diode/cap/???
Not all motors required a Schottky unless it was mentioned in your esc manual. The caps (not diodes) were typically .1 uF ceramic disc and you used two. Some esc's wanted you to use 3. Some kits had an electrolytic or tantalum cap.

Re: Composite Craft RPM '91 Worlds build thread
Added translucent RPM 7031 Up-travel limiters to the rear and Bud's wing mounts. I used a small JG shock shaft spacer on the lower rear rod end since it has the pivot ball. At least it's a slider now.

Re: Composite Craft RPM '91 Worlds build thread
The AE shock mount screws arrived, so I will finish mounting the shocks later today. I also picked up a set of CC low profile servo mounts. These might have originally been a pan car part, but I have several sets in my pit box from bitd and used them on my buggy.
