Re: Optima Mid Questions/Help
Thanks for all the help guys. I really appreciate it. I bit the bullet and went with some re-re shocks--all 4 for $48. I figured for a runner they would fit ok, and work well enough for my hobby needs. This site is so great for help. I will keep an eye out on eBay though for a replacement part, just...

Re: Optima Mid Questions/Help
Hey! Thank you for the reply. I think that we are talking about the same time. Here is the picture of my broken one: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q6/billpete/5F5224A6-D9CE-4DE5-B397-15C13CC42F4E_zpsubd80jun.jpg Are we talking about the same thing? This end screws into the bottom of the shock--...

Re: Optima Mid Questions/Help
Ok guys, shock questions now. My mid has the platinum shocks on it. The plastic end on one of the rears broke, and a pretty thorough search of the net shows little to no replacement parts available for the platinum shocks. Right now, the plan is for this to be a runner--no racing for the time being....

Re: Optima Mid Questions/Help
Yeah I think that the wheels are the culprit. They do work with some other plastic hex hubs I have. They will go on my hotshot as a general purpose run around wheel. I was hoping to use them on my mid, since it is the only car I have running right now. I did order some other wheels/tires and once th...

Re: Optima Mid Questions/Help
The packaging got thrown away (overzealous recycling girlfriend!) so I cannot remember. I might try to get back to the store and see.
I can take a pic if you want.

Re: Optima Mid Questions/Help
Hex hubs are supposed to be 12mm, that's a standard. 12mm is 12mm, vintage or modern. I'm not sure I understand what you meant by saying the vintage hex hubs were too big? Take them off and measure them. Yeah they are 12mm. Maybe the aftermarket wheels are too small then. I could get the wheel on t...

Re: Optima Mid Questions/Help
Hey Guys, Back again. I haven't ordered any new wheels yet, but tried some aftermarket ones from a local store that I got for my hotshot. The issue I am having now is this: It appears that the vintage hex hubs on my mid (the kind that you press on) are a skoosh too big for the aftermarket wheels I h...

Re: My Vintage Hotshot 4WD
Got my hotshot apart, and slowly getting it back together. Servo needs replacement. Found that out today. The little red disks that go in the front arms are in tough shape too. Already replaced the front arms, hubs and top part of the chassis. The right rear wheel now catches. About every 10th rotat...

I'm using JConcepts 2.2 Rulux wheels for an E-Revo on my Javelin. The offset is right and are also available with premounted tires. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/sixdub/Vintage%20RC/20170402_181045_zpspokdm3nd.jpg Another option is to use the 2.2 rear wheels for the re-re Scorpion. Part num...

Re: My Vintage Hotshot 4WD
Yes. Just completed a build of the re-release Hotshot (with a few custom parts) and comparing the manuals with the original most parts are pretty much identical and therefore interchangeable. Have a look at the old and new manuals on line just to compare. upla.JPG I like that front bumper--which on...
