Re: 3D Printed Stainless Steel Outdrives
Dynotech makes proper (likely better than oem) replacements for $50/pr on eBay I saw that there was one last pair. What I saw was aluminum and I have concerns about the longevity for general bashing. I may have a shelf build lined up as 3rd in my queue where that should be ok, but steel is my first...

I thought that I was. I spent a bit of time trying to make sure I was getting the correct thing.juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 2:43 am Just be sure that whatever 8-32 screws you use have a 100° angle, not the more common 82°. RC10 pans are not thick enough to fully seat an 82°, 8-32 screw.

Re: Startin the run what ya brung build of a Team Car
Just something to think about. The short screw on the nose plate is steel, as well as screws in the nose tubes. In most models, the screws that attach the transmission, gear cover, and chassis the motor plate are steel as well. I did notice for this car the official screws were steel for everything...

Re: 3D Printed Stainless Steel Outdrives
Hopefully I'll be out at the track tomorrow night abusing these! I'll report back how it goes. In the meantime, I have a new option that I'll be making available to you guys soon. See thread here http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=42142 For the printed ones, I think that other than d...

Re: RC10 Team car restoraion
Rebuilt the rear hub carriers, the bearings were pretty shot so I put new ones in. The dogbones were ok, a little bent and rusty so I straightened them out and painted them semi-gloss black. One of the shock collars was missing, looked around for some original ones but ended up getting some 3D prin...

Re: RC10 Team car restoraion
Skipped this picture of the nose plate after it was painted. I decided to put stainless steel screws in this car since most of the ones on it were pretty rusty, plus I always thought they look really cool. The screw kit I bought came with stainless steel versions of the bigger screws that hold the ...

Re: Startin the run what ya brung build of a Team Car
I was able to solve some of the issues that were keeping me from using the RPM heavy duty cups all around. For the center steering link the RMP cups were to long IMG_8811.jpg I was able to cut them down and get them to length using a Husky PVC ratcheting pipe cutter IMG_8812.jpg IMG_8814.jpg The cut...

Re: Startin the run what ya brung build of a Team Car
Team KnK has nice hardware. They aren't blue but have the correct bevel. Their prices are good enough that I bought lots of spare hardware as well. If you want blue, the ones from Custom Works fit correctly. Concerning AE colors, I have received hardware from them in several different shades of blu...

Re: Startin the run what ya brung build of a Team Car
I started this build by the numbers Build_collage.jpg It did not go as expected The lunsford pins and tie rods were perfect. The original parts went on fine. The first surprise was the fastener express 8-32 machine screws did not fit like originals. They are different colors then the blue AE team sc...

Here are the measurements that I took The shaft on the right is a modern "3mm" shaft from an Associated big bore. The shaft measured 2.97mm. The thread was 2.93mm, metric "M3" threads. The shaft on the left is a vintage Associated shaft. The shaft measured 3.11mm. The thread was...
