Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

So am I. :D Anyway, yes, the F-100's engine block houses a Tamiya brushed 380 motor, the C6 transmission houses a metal planetary gear set pulled from a stepper motor I found on ebay. So, I just watched a how-to video and Orca's cut feature definitely will work to remove the top allowing you to prin...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

Thanks for the model. :D I ran into similar orientation problems with the F-100 and ended up separating it into panels (doors, roof, back, cowl, fenders, etc.) and making custom supports for each part. It's a lot of work but it was the only way I've found to make acceptable prints and reduce fillin...

Re: Fan RC FR-01 Worlds RC10 Blue kit

Nice build!! The black/blue theme definitely works for me.
Having both AE rere's and FanRC, Fan's quality is definitely superior. I really hope he survives the war. :|

The frame is indeed gold, and numbered!
Has new window frame decals, a nice touch as well.

Congrat's Tim. :D
Do all parts have the lighter gold color -- including shocks?

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

Well, those prints look great. There's nothing wrong with your printer. :)

I've ordered some transparent PETG. I hear it can be tricky to print but hopefully I'm able to make some clear lenses. :|

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

I envy your patience.
It's the fiddling with settings to make the darn thing work that kept me away from printing for so long. I just don't have the patience for that sort of thing. I expect everything to work like a toaster. :|

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

Those 5-lugs look great.
I can't get over how much your silver filament parts look like die cast aluminum.
I know you're building this for display, are you planning to paint anything or just leave it natural? Just curious.

Hey, give 'em a break, will ya?
After all, RC10 part designs are INCREDIBLY complex.

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines

I've saved the largest and most complex parts for last on this project. This bed side required 11-1/2 hours to print -- but I think it was worth the time. With layer height set to 0.08mm, the layer lines are almost non-existent. A few passes with some 380 grit paper and they're gone. I probably coul...

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines

First few ABS parts have printed without a hitch. So far, so good. I've used PEI plate, ran filament calibration, used glue and a brim. No bed or layer adhesion problems. P1010076.JPG I did notice parts are easier to remove than with PLA on the high-tack cool plate. Anyway, on to the next set of par...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...

The external fixture seems like a great way to align the halves for glueing.
I was thinking about printing a sleeve that would remain inside the tire but your way is much better.
Excellent work - again.

With a US patent alone, challenging infringement from a corporation based outside the US becomes extremely difficult if not impossible.

Well, the new video from AE does shed some light but I think they should have given you some credit.

Re: The RC10 4wd (or how AE stole the Ten4 project)

The more I think about this, the more angry I get.

Why didn't they reproduce the 4wd RC10 prototype that Jay raced at the World's?
At least that car has some connection with AE.

Well, they can keep it! No pre-order from me.
