Re: Finally---I Score an Optima Mid
Looks very good. You appear to have nailed the color. There's a couple like it posted on ebay right now. Yellow is an appropriate color for this car; you have a goldmine there. Good job. Set it on the shelf to admire or sell it and retire early. ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Re: B1M RC10 Mid Motor Conversion
Gee Nomad, it's too bad you don't know someone who has a lathe and some titanium rod. Ti front axles would be very cool!!! ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Re: B1M RC10 Mid Motor Conversion
IMHO, you just can't go wrong with a Protech body but I also like the Turbo Mirage. When I was building the 93 Worlds rere car, I couldn't decide which to go with so I made one of each and put the Protech on the vintage car.

Re: B1M RC10 Mid Motor Conversion
Yip, looks great! I really like the wheels. Is it just the photo or is that wing really BIG? Should provide lots of down-force.
Anyway, everything looks fantastic.

Re: My RC10 (runner)
I'm not stating anything new here but, all other things being equal and provided there is enough rear grip to prevent over-steer, a mid motor configuration will nearly always be quicker through the turns than a rear motor; if for no other reason than it places more of the car's mass toward the cente...

Re: B1M RC10 Mid Motor Conversion
THAT'S IT!!! Yes, a fake VW motor. It was so obvious. Thank you. A fake VW motor. A highly detailed 3d printed version is available from shapeways (I've seen them in Tamiya Sand Scorcher builds) but a better, lighter and more durable alternative for a racer like this one would be a simple vacuum for...

Re: B1M RC10 Mid Motor Conversion
Well, actually, the vacant space I was referring to is the space in the very back where the motor used to be. But now I'm curious to see what you have in mind to go next to the pinion. I'm gonna go way out on a limb and guess that it will be made from titanium. ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Re: B1M RC10 Mid Motor Conversion
Looks awesome! Really clean, well built and a nice combination of parts; everything appears to work very well together. I never noticed before how incredibly short that Savox is. You could almost stand it up. Where will you place the receiver and esc? The space left vacant by the motor just begs for...

Re: XLS Re-re: body/undertray too narrow for battery
I used to run my XL with a Core RC stick pack across the chassis. I scalloped undertray away to clear corners of pack, allowing it to overhang slightly under shell, was still a stretch though. Switched to a shortie now, albeit with my own craddles which position pack further back than kit ones, sav...

Re: My RC10 (runner)
Absolutely slow!! Mid-corner speed is totally different especially if corner radius is larger. This car does not turn well if there is no breaking motion. That's disappointing. I would have expected better performance considering the front weight bias, suspension mods, etc. Well, I reckon it's time...

Re: New RC-10 B4.2
That's odd. I pretty sure all of my old brushed motors with a Yokomo style can use M3 x .5 screws like the modern brushless motors. My old Fantom brushed motors with their proprietary can use #4-40 screws. That's the extent of my knowledge here; I'm sure other members here can provide more detail on...

Hey, glad you got your truck fixed. That brace should help a lot. If you don't mind me asking, what brand/spec shorty did you buy?
