Re: Kyosho Sideways

I drooled over this car many times in my Tower Hobbies catalog BITD. I have wanted to build one for a while but parts are not plentiful for any of the old Ultimas, let alone a Sideways. I've got 3 incomplete roll cages, an Ultima 2 for parts, and a bunch of Hot Trick parts, but not enough to get a b...

I'm jealous. That's very cool. I love vintage pan cars.

Re: Any Good Radios Out There??

Part of that "lack of sturdiness" may be that the old radios took 8 AA batteries and most modern radios only use 4, Making them considerably lighter.

Re: Any Good Radios Out There??

I find that the ease of range of adjustments on the higher end radios makes it worth the money at times. Yes, my traxxas link radio works just as well as my Spektrum DX3S, but the initial setup is kind of a PITA on the traxxas. I personally believe that the best radio depends on the user. Someone ne...

Re: RC10GT Brushless Conversion Performance Review

Not at all. The small amount of weight from the esc is better off being near the rear tires to aid in traction in my opinion. Another good option would be to mount it on the rear of the truck, where the battery pack used to sit, on the backside of the shock tower. I just felt it was a little more ex...

Re: Any Good Radios Out There??

I like the traxxas 2.4 link radios. Doesn't really have the easy access to fine tuning like you would want for a racing transmitter, but for bashing around a big nitro truck they git-er-done. I have one that came with my 4x4 vxl slash and I was happy with it enough that I just picked up a few more c...

Re: Jerobee Challenger

Yeah, I'm going to do some searching around on this. This price would be more acceptable if it was a rechargeable of some type. A $50 disposable alkaline is like wiping my ass with gold fringed toilet paper. I've seen that a 9 volt is just a rectangular case around 8 smaller cells. Basically a mini ...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

Early Kyosho maybe? Optima type wheels and rear tires and plate aluminum constructiion is very Kyosho like.

Re: Jerobee Challenger

Thanks for the good tech info. I didn't even consider the mah. I also thought of just using a different transmitter, but that would take away from the experience. I also received a futaba fp-2f transmitter that looks to be in good shape and is similarly styled that would be cool to use and period co...

Re: Jerobee Challenger

Already ran into the first snag. Opened up the transmitter and everything looks great, except for this monstrosity of a battery connector. I looked in the manual to find it takes a 9v battery size 1603. THEY ARE $50 A PIECE FOR AN ALKALINE. Are you kidding me?! There's no way I'm gonna hack up the w...

Jerobee Challenger

Picked this up today with a small collection I bought. Any input from you guys would be great on this one. It came with a bunch of paperwork including the manual, newsletter, parts list, etc. All the dates are 1976. Does that ring true for the age of this car? At first I thought it had the wrong bod...
