Re: Painting , how long does it take you ?
Anyone use a hair dryer to help speed drying times? I saw a guy at a shop, whip up bodies real quick hitting them w/ a hair dryer. Not sure if it was coats of same color, backing, switching colors... but he was moving fast.

Re: Team Associated RC10L Basic Fiberglass Kit
I had a wide 10L fiberglass way back ... I think I probably had a Slot-Machine era motor... standard ROAR 91(?) fixed timing stand-up brush end-bell. I actually think I may have had a Warlock or S&K in there when I was racing on the asphalt.

That's so good looking... but I just want to put a nice 6-cell side-by-side back there.

They make (or made?) LiPo Saddle Packs too. That might give you some flexibility.

Re: RC10LSO that I couldn't pass up
For our flat track racing, we used just standard futaba / airtronics servos. the bashing killed enough of them... some upgraded to metal gearsets in just standard servos. the "good" servos were saved usually for the very best.

Or just go stainless steel hardware for the sparkle.

Re: RC10LSO that I couldn't pass up
Sweet job. It's on my never-ending list of projects to build up a 10L && 10LSS like I ran back in the day.
I have used apple cider vinegar in the past to remove rust. However it does also tend to remove the black oxide coating from steal hardware too. After all, rust is an oxide too.

Yeah, nice floating pod dampner. I actually had that on one of my flat track cars way back. Seemed to work pretty good.

Re: Team Associated RC10L Basic Fiberglass Kit
Brought me back to my first onroad car build... This exact kit. We ran in local parking lots (churches, car dealerships, hobby shops) during the summer w/ a PVC track in a simple oval setup. I had a Novak M5 in this car and my RC10CE 6gear I'd race. Then I'd swap tires on the RC10 to run dirt on sun...

Re: Paintings for Asso_man!
That really is some nice paint. Hoping I can get my act together and learn to do some nice, simple airbrush bodies... the simple "thirds" I do with rattle cans are getting boring.

Re: Wheel base RC10CE vs Worlds Car
My recollection was bad... from Taiwan and $2 shipping. I have a saved search for "Associated 9911" so I got notified when they pop off. Often they're only singles. Not sure why they're not showing up, but when I go to my purchased items, it still looks like there's a few available... Unle...

Re: Wheel base RC10CE vs Worlds Car
the 9911 bones periodically show up available from China. I just ordered another pair to have on hand. Not that expensive and free shipping.
