Re: Worlds rerelease CVAs on a CE

I don't remember when AE switched over, but I think the B4 used smaller diameter hinge pins so you'd have to drill out the hub to accommodate the RC10 hinge pins. I was curious if the hub thickness would be off by even just 1/32" with the different hubs which would help with the dog bone issue....

Re: Mat's World's ReRe - Build #2 - RaceReady

My bad, should have put that info in there... Yes, Proline Dirt Hawgs on the 2.2 DE Racing Borrergo Wheels (Part# DER-BB-AFB / DER-BB-ARB). Really like that style of wheel, I have white ones on my FT SC10.2.

Re: Mat's World's ReRe - Build #2 - RaceReady

Shock tower options... Need to figure out which type I want... I found a CarbonWorks 3MM stock worlds tower CW_RearTower.JPG Been so long since I CA'd a tower... looks pretty good. CW_Tower_CAglue.JPG But I also have a set of these towers ordered: Front: CustomFrontTower.JPG Rear: CustomRearTower.JP...

Re: Worlds rerelease CVAs on a CE

Does the rear hub matter? Aka the older/blockier shaped one vs. the newer/smaller one? vs. say an RPM rear hub...

Also shock mounting position would affect the downward travel of the arm a bit too, so if you're not racing, maybe you can tweak the mounting location a bit to limit travel?

Re: Mat's World's ReRe - Build #2 - RaceReady

Yeah, I have of CarbonWorks' DS towers. :) I do really like the look of the weave. Only downside is they can be a bit pricey. I was lucky to snag some of the stuff via auction. Trying to figure out what towers are on the car I got from someone else that look great. Stock replacement but it has "...

Re: Mat's World's ReRe - Build #2 - RaceReady

Started the build finally as the bearings came saturday. But then started thinking... Do I really want stock shock towers? Looking at all the other RC10s and parts I got, I really like the carbon weave look of CarbonWorks towers. And one car has towers I really like... but I also like the idea of th...

Re: Mat's World's ReRe - Build #2 - RaceReady

Broke down and ordered an SSC rear motor guard. Too lazy of late to hack off the tail of a chassis and have to clean it up, drill it, etc. I want to build! LOL. Crossing my fingers the bearings show up today/tomorrow so I can really get started this weekend. :)

Re: Factory Works/A&L C2 build...

Maybe a little kydex mount off the front shock tower? Similar to the old RC10 Monster truck conversions... I got a set of mounts like that up on Ebay.

I do like that look though. :)

Re: Wheel base RC10CE vs Worlds Car

I read that as he already had the wheels and was looking to upgrade from the bones. B4 2.2" wheels and still super easy to come by that'd fit the ReRe rear axle. IMO, the only reason to do hex conversion is if you have one set of tires you want to flip back and forth between your RC10 and your ...

Re: Wheel base RC10CE vs Worlds Car

It's possible you have recessed/offset wheels. Really depends on the make/model of the wheel because there's so many out there from past to present. I'm sure someone will pipe up if I'm wrong... but I believe your options are: Convert to the Worlds ReRe CVAs. You would need the appropriate rear hub ...

Re: Help with b5m shock length

Depending on your actual RC10, you can probably still get NEW direct replacements from Associated. I like the Worlds Re-Release kit shocks with the "bottom" seal. The "V2" series I think they call them. Or you can probably get a rebuild kit and the V2 bodies to rebuild/upgrade yo...

Re: Mat's World's ReRe - Build #2 - RaceReady

I was torn... I almost bought an Avid kit because you can customize what type of bearing for each size. The Boca rep was so helpful and the discount was just too good to say no too. We'll see how they spin...

Re: Mat's World's ReRe - Build #2 - RaceReady

I ended going with Boca Green Seal Bearings. I was eyeing ceramic but the cost is pretty high. We'll see how these go. :) I do have to give a special thanks to Boca, because I pointed out their "World's" bearing kit was for the original, not the ReRe. After chatting with them, they gave me...
